Actress Vicky McClure's projects include Shane Meadows' This Is England series, Line of Duty and Broadchurch. She's now taking on her first major stage role with Nottingham Playhouse's 40th anniversary production of Stephen Lowe's World War II drama Touched, centring on a family of working-class women during the 100 days between VE Day and VJ Day. It begins previews on 17 February.
International Triumph Blood Brothers to Embark on 30th Anniversary UK Tour

2017 marks 30 years since Bill Kenwright's production of the international smash hit musical Blood Brothers first toured the UK. In celebration, the iconic musical will visit theatres across the country next year, opening on Tuesday 17 January at the New Victoria Theatre in Woking.

???????Calendar Girls, a 2009 play based on a hit 2003 film, is Tim Firth and Juliette Towhidi's true-to-life comedy about six middle-aged women from a village in Yorkshire, England who raise money by posing nude for a calendar, in the process becoming a worldwide sensation. The women's goal was to honor one of their members' husbands, who had died from leukemia, by raising money to purchase a settee to be dedicated to his memory. The 2003 motion picture starred Helen Mirren and became a major success, grossing nearly $100 million and garnering Golden Globe nominations for Mirren and co-star Julie Walters. The play is being presented at the Santa Paula Theater Center through December 18.

With the popularity of film screenings paired with live symphony orchestras at an all time high, I'm glad one of the many to get the treatment is Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, the first installment of the 8-film movie franchise adapted from JK Rowling's worldwide best-selling books. What an incredible thrill it was to hear John Williams' now-iconic score reverberate live in full force via a massive 84-person symphony orchestra while synced up perfectly to the film screened in HD above the orchestra on a 40-foot screen. The concert series continues through November 13 at OC's Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa.

The international smash hit musical Blood Brothers will make a triumphant return to Birmingham Hippodrome for two weeks this Autumn from Mon 10 - Sat 22 Oct.
No stranger to Blood Brothers, 'The definitive Mrs Johnstone' (Manchester Evening News) Lyn Paul returns to the iconic role, one she first played in 1997. Lyn played Mrs Johnstone in the final West End performances at the Phoenix Theatre in 2012. She has also starred in the UK tour of Cabaret in 2013 as Fraulein Schneider, in Boy George's musical Taboo and in Footloose - the Musical.
