Now in its 31st Season, Jose Mateo Ballet Theatre presents its treasured production of The Nutcracker at two of Boston's finest theatres this holiday season.  After a long-awaited triumphant return to the Theatre District last season, the Company returns to The Cutler Majestic Theatre (Nov.25-December 4) and for the sixth consecutive season returns to The Strand Theatre in Dorchester (Dec.9-18) with an extended run.

Prospect Theater Company has announced the line-up for its 2016 annual gala, a 'Skyline Celebration' at Manhattan Penthouse (80 Fifth Avenue at 14th Street, NYC). 

At a ceremony held last night in New York, the Manhattan Association of Cabarets & Clubs announced the winners of the 2016 MAC Awards. A Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Amanda McBroom.  Also honored with a Board of Directors award was Maryann Lopinto.  Jamie deRoy received the Ruth Kurtzman Benefit Award on behalf of her work with The Actors Fund: Jamie deRoy & Friends Cabaret Initiative.  Sally Darling received the Hanson Award. The show was produced by Julie Miller and directed by Lennie Watts, with musical direction by Matt Baker.

Stockton Dr., Chicago). Four world-premiere performances will take place today, August 19 at 10am and 12pm, and tomorrow, August 20 at 4pm and 6pm.

The Patrick G. and Shirley W. Ryan Opera Center at Lyric Opera of Chicago celebrates its 40th season with its annual Rising Stars in Concert program Saturday, March 21, at 7:30pm at the Civic Opera House. The talented singers and pianist of the 2014-15 ensemble will perform with members of the Lyric Opera Orchestra in works of Bellini, Berg, Berlioz, Bizet, Debussy, Donizetti, Floyd, Gounod, Handel, Korngold, Mozart, Puccini, Rodgers and Hammerstein, and Rossini. Rising Stars in Concert is offered in celebration of an exceptionally successful year of study and performance for these up-and-coming artists.

On Sunday, March 29 the Fairfield Theatre Company will welcome the new project from songwriters Lucy Kaplansky and Richard Shindell to StageOne at 7:30 p.m. with very special guests, Larry Campbell and Teresa Williams.
