On January 17th, TCL (formerly Grauman's) Chinese Theatre presented a public screening of 'THE BIRDS' featuring a Q&A with cast co-stars Tippi Hedren and Veronica Cartwright. Celebrities and art lovers gathered tonight for Art Project Los Angeles - the third annual red-carpet art auction and gala event benefiting AIDS Project Los Angeles (APLA). The event raised over $180,000 for APLA, which provides direct care services and HIV prevention programs to more than 11,000 Angelenos.
Two events will be featured at The Grove Theatre and Academy: Saturday, April 14th at 8:00 pm, The Perfect Gentlemen will blend their special brand of music and humor; and on April 21st at 8:00 pm, Judy Tenuta will perform with her unique brand of adult humor.
The Grove Theatre in Historic downtown Upland presents an evening of adult humor with comedian Judy Tenuta for One Night Only on Saturday, April 21st. Judy has strong stage, television, comedy and film credits, having appeared in “The Vagina Monologues' and in 'Menopause the Musical' both in LA and Chicago, and has had her own stand-up specials on Showtime, HBO and Lifetime. Judy was the first female stand-up comic to win 'Best Female Comedian' at the American Comedy Awards and is a two-time Grammy nominee for her comedy CD'S. That same year, she became the national spokesperson for a series of Diet Dr. Pepper commercials. The self-described 'Love Goddess' and 'Aphrodite of the Accordion' has made hundreds of guest and co-hosting appearances on such popular TV shows as 'The View', 'Late Night with David Letterman', 'Larry King Live', 'Entertainment Tonight', and 'Comics Unleashed'.
