Mirirai Sithole Awarded Classic Stage Company's Rosemarie Tichler Fund Grant

Classic Stage Company has announced that Mirirai Sithole is this year's recipient of the Rosemarie Tichler Fund grant. The Fund was established in 2010 with the mission to assist young actors who have appeared at CSC and who have recently made the transition from their training into the profession. The $3,000 grant can be used by the young artist to continue training or to offset loans they may have incurred while studying their craft. With the grant, CSC hopes to make a difference in the lives of young actors at the start of their careers as well as to heighten awareness in the community to the specific needs of actors.
Breaking News: FUN HOME Will Play Final Performance on Broadway This Fall

Fun Home, the groundbreaking, Tony Award-winning Best Musical, will play its final performance on Broadway on Saturday, September 10 at 8 PM, it was announced today. The show, which opened on April 19, 2015, will have played 26 preview and 582 regular performances on Broadway at the Circle in the Square Theatre (235 West 50th St) and 114 performances Off Broadway at The Public Theater.

Broadway's top musical artists are set to appear on tonight's (June 21st) telecast of 'Maya & Marty' on NBC to perform 'What the World Needs Now Is Love,' an updated version of the classic Burt Bacharach/Hal David song that is helping to support the devastated LGBT community of Orlando, Fla. A slew of stage vets rehearsed the song earlier today, and Seth Rudetsky captured a sneak preview.

Broadway Records President Van Dean, SiriusXM Radio Host Seth Rudetsky and Producer James Wesley launched the charitable initiative Broadway for Orlando with an all-star roster of theater artists recording the benefit single 'What the World Needs Now is Love,' at Avatar Studios. Created to honor the victims and those wounded in the Orlando shooting massacre at Pulse nightclub and aid the surrounding community, 100% of the proceeds from the sale of the song will benefit the LGBT Center of Central Florida. Hall will headline a one-night night only reading of Will Eno's play GNIT, adapted from Henrik Ibsen's PEER GYNT Monday evening, June 20 at 7 pm at CSC (136 East 13th Street) as part of the theater's FIRST LOOK FESTIVAL IBSEN, presented in conjunction with the company current production of PEER GYNT, directed by John Doyle and runs through this Sunday, June 19.

Directed by Phyllida Lloyd, The Public's Free Shakespeare in the Park all-female production of THE TAMING OF THE SHREW began performances on May 24 and is part of the global 400th anniversary celebration of William Shakespeare's life and death.
