THE DROWSY CHAPERONE Joins Season 54 at Weathervane Theatre ImageProducing Artistic Director Ethan Paulini has announced The Drowsy Chaperone as the fourth show in the 2019 54th Season.

The Drowsy Chaperone joins the rotating repertory on July 23. A lovingly hilarious musical farce, The Drowsy Chaperone was a runaway Broadway hit and the winner of five Tony Awards including Best Score and Best Book of a Musical! This title joins the already announced Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill, Sister Act and Bright Star. Cast, creative team and a full schedule will be announced shortly. Season 54 officially opens on July 6 with the annual Bubble and Squeak.

Performances continue for 8 weeks through August 31 culminating in audience favorite Best Of. Other programming including Patchwork Players, will be announced in the coming weeks.

The Weathervane Theatre was founded in in 1965 by Gibbs Murray and the late Tom Haas. For over half a century, it has presented high quality professional productions of plays and musicals. One of the few remaining alternating rep companies in the United States, the Weathervane is recognized as a historical institution nationwide, boasting among it's alumni Elizabeth Stanley, Tally Sessions, 4 time Tony nominee Judy Kuhn and recent Tony Award Winner Ari'el Stachel.
