DIRTY DANCING North American Tour to Celebrate Three Years on the Road; 2016-17 Stops Announced!

Dirty Dancing - The Classic Story On Stage will launch the third year of its North American tour at the Orpheum Theatre in Memphis, TN, September 13 - 18. Following two successful years on the road with many sold out engagements, the stage adaptation of the worldwide smash-hit film will continue on to play over 30 markets in North America including first time engagements in Miami, Salt Lake City, Phoenix, return engagements in Pittsburgh, Charlotte, St. Louis and many more. Additional cities will be announced in the coming months.

Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe concludes its 2015-2016 season with the comedy-drama DRIVING MISS DAISY, which runs April 20 (with three additional special previews added on April 16, 17 and 19) through May 28. The play won a Pulitzer Prize in 1988; in 1989, it was adapted into a film that was awarded four Academy Awards, including Best Picture.

Make Me a Musical, which opens at PASA today, is loosely based on the Faust story and is set in the context of a 'backstage musical' which embraces many of the cliches of the genre - and turns them on their head. It could almost be described as a something of a parody musical, with some elements of pastiche and with its tongue firmly in its cheek.
