BroadwayWorld's Taylor Long chats with director Tim French, Stratford Festival-favourite Juan Chioran who is playing Guido, and Tracy Michailidis who is playing Guido's wife, Luisa Contini.

Artistic Director Antoni Cimolino just announced key casting for the 2018 season of the Stratford Festival, including Seana McKenna as Julius Caesar, Andr Sills as Coriolanus, and Daren A. Herbert as Harold Hill, the 'Music Man.'
The Stratford Festival's latest HD films, Macbeth and Love's Labour's Lost, are airing on CBC TV this month, giving Canadians across the country a chance to see the work of the country's landmark theatre during this special 150th anniversary year.
The River Street Theatre (RST), a project of The Park Theatre, will present the award-winning Stratford Festival's production of William Shakespeare's LOVE'S LABOUR'S LOST on Sunday and Monday, August 6 & 7 with a 1:30 pm matinee each day. The play is presented exactly as it was staged and exquisitely captured in HD video and sound.
If you are planning a family trip to Stratford, Ontario in the coming months, here's something to add to your itinerary. Schulich Children's Plays' TREASURE ISLAND-currently on stage at Stratford Festival's Avon Theatre, is filled with wonder and delight and is sure to be enjoyed by children and adults alike.
The Stratford Festival's first ever staging of Stephen Sondheim's A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC is happening this season at the Avon Theatre. Directed by Gary Griffin, It is clever, it is delightful, it is funny, it is sad, and it is beautifully performed by everyone involved. Everyone I have spoken with who has seen this production has a different favourite scene or performer. There is so much to take in that it is just as fun to see it a second time!
BroadwayWorld has an exclusive first look at The Stratford Festival's new production of A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC. In this clip, Sara Farb performs 'The Miller's Son.'
This week A Chorus Line at the Stratford Festival confirmed what I've already long suspected: Donna Feore is one of the greatest directors of musicals of our time. Year after year she has managed to put out a top notch main stage musical for the festival as good as anything you'll see on Broadway, Toronto, or the West End.
We've now completed six previews. I love this time of year because no two shows are alike. After each matinee preview we rehearse on stage from 5:30-9:30p.m. Boy, do we have fun in those rehearsals, especially from 8:30-9:30p.m., or as we like to call it 'the witching hour.'
BroadwayWorld has exclusive photos from inside the first rehearsal of A CHORUS LINE at The Stratford Festival! The company began rehearsals yesterday, February 16. A CHORUS LINE is a stunning musical-verite about a chorus audition for a Broadway musical. It tells of the achingly poignant ambitions of professional Broadway gypsies to land a job in the show, and is a powerful metaphor for all human aspiration.

Dayna Tietzen and Juan Chioran will be at the forefront of next season's not-to-be-missed theatrical event: a dazzling new production of A Chorus Line at the Festival Theatre. Canada's leading director-choreographer, Donna Feore, will make theatrical magic, reimagining this legendary musical for its first major production on a thrust stage.
LOVE'S LABOUR'S LOST opened at the Stratford Festival's Festival Theatre on Friday night…and it hit a home run with the audience! Director, John Caird takes one of Shakespeare's earlier plays and makes it feel shiny and new. Assisting with this is an exceptional cast, captivating set design, and beautiful music-but what is truly on display is William Shakespeare's utter love of, and talent with the English language. He makes words and sounds fun, and that is particularly true in this play.
Swift advance sales have prompted the Stratford Festival to extend the runs of four productions, just as the box office has opened to the public. Performances of Carousel, The Alchemist, The Physicists and The Last Wife have been added to the schedule.
It's unlikely anyone leaving a performance of 'The Motherf**ker With the Hat' (MOFO) will be indifferent. That makes actor Juan Chioran happy. 'To be indifferent is the biggest crime in theatre,' he says on a day off from the popular show now playing at the new Coal Mine Theatre on the Danforth. He demands to be engaged, he adds, every time he attends a production.
Simply put, Juan Chioran, with his at times hilarious, at times heartbreaking, performance as Cousin Julio, is the reason to see the Toronto premiere of Stephen Adly Guirgis' 'The Mother f**ker with the Hat.' (MOFO).
