Artistic Director Kelly Thornton and Managing Director Beth Brown are proud to announce Nightwood Theatre's 2018/19 season. In our penultimate season before our 40th anniversary, we have assembled an ambitious lineup of some of the most dynamic female voices working in theatre today. Nightwood is proud to support and partner with an ever-burgeoning community of artists and like-minded arts organizations to develop high-caliber contemporary theatre.
2018 Kicks Off With VIOLET at Olathe Civic Theatre Association

Olathe Civic Theatre Association (OCTA) begins 2018 with the award-winning musical Violet, an inspiring story of a girl with a disfiguring scar who sets out on a journey to seek healing and finds her true beauty along the way. With book and lyrics by Brian Crawley, music by Jeanine Tesori, and a story based on 'The Ugliest Pilgrim' by Doris Betts, this production is helmed by local theatre veterans Julie Ewing (director) and Kevin Bogan (music director). Violet runs three weekends February 9-25, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm and Sundays at 2 pm.

Declan Donnellan is the co-Artistic Director of Cheek By Jowl. He's helmed over 30 productions for the company, touring to nearly 400 cities across six continents, and has also directed productions for the National Theatre, the RSC, the Avignon, and the Edinburgh and Salzburg Festivals, as well as opera, dance and film. Cheek By Jowl's The Winter's Tale is currently on the UK leg of a major international tour.

It's Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious as the popular family musical 'MARY POPPINS' flies onto the stage at Theatre in the Park (TTIP) Friday July 29 through Sunday, July 31, and continuing into the following week on Wednesday, Aug. 3 through Saturday, Aug. 6. A must catch it if you can, Catch It If You Can The Musical! opened on Friday February 27 at the Barn Players in Mission, Kansas. Guy Gardner directs and choreographs the Barn Players production with music direction by James Levy. Catch Me If You Can The Musical! is music with libretto by Terrence McNally and theatrical score by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman.
