In the midst of its milestone 10th season, the Harris Theater for Music and Dance heads into the new year with can't-miss performances as part of the Harris Theater Presents series, including a special addition to the 2013-2014 season: the Chicago debut of On Grace, a work-in-progress performance on Tuesday, January 21, 2014, from Drama Desk Award-winner Anna Deavere Smith and cellist Joshua Roman.

The Cape Dance Company (CDC) has grown into one of South Africa's top contemporary dance companies. Working from a neo-classical foundation, the company has a reputation for presenting polished work of an excellent technical standard.

The Cape Dance Company will present GRACE at the Oude Libertas Amphitheatre in Stellenbosch from 20 to 23 November 2013. The dynamic season will be directed by Debbie Turner and will feature exquisite neo-classical ballets created by South African and International choreographers such as Bradley Shelver and Christopher L. Huggins.

Wendy Whelan, whom The New York Times has called 'America's greatest contemporary ballerina,' has danced with New York City Ballet for 29 years. With the company, she has mastered Balanchine's neo-classical repertory, dance classics such as Sleeping Beauty and Swan Lake and created works with many of today's leading choreographers. Having reached the height of her field, Whelan, now 46, is embarking on a groundbreaking journey at an age when most ballerinas simply retire from the stage. She has launched Wendy Whelan New Works Initiative, which begins with Restless Creature, a suite of four duets, each with its own distinct style and artistry, created by and danced with Kyle Abraham, Joshua Beamish, Brian Brooks and Alejandro Cerrudo. The work will tour to nine cities this spring including New York, London and Boston from March 18-July 26.

The world premiere of Wendy Whelan's Restless Creature, an evening-length suite of dynamic contemporary duets, will take place at Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival in the historic Ted Shawn Theatre, August 14-18. Each with his own unique style and artistry, the four contemporary choreographers of Restless Creature: Kyle Abraham, Joshua Beamish, Brian Brooks, and Alejandro Cerrudo, will perform alongside 'America's greatest contemporary ballerina' (Claudia La Rocco, The New York Times) only at Jacob's Pillow this summer.

Hubbard Street Dance Chicago and Artistic Director Glenn Edgerton announce three artists joining the organization's 18-member performing company: Emilie Leriche, Andrew Murdock and Bryna Pascoe. “Each is highly accomplished in both classical and contemporary dance,” says Edgerton, “and uniquely suited for Hubbard Street's active repertoire of works by major international choreographers.” All are scheduled to perform during the company's Fall Series, opening Season 36 with new works by Robyn Mineko Williams and Resident Choreographer Alejandro Cerrudo, plus repertoire by Mats Ek and Ohad Naharin, October 10–13, 2013 at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance.

McCarter Theatre Center is pleased to announce its 2013-2014 roster of world-renowned artists on its 2013-14 Presenting Series. During the upcoming season, McCarter will present over 40 performances by world-class performing artists curated by Special Programming Director William W. Lockwood. Following the 80th Anniversary Season's record-breaking attendance, Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival announces the 2013 Festival schedule today. Jacob's Pillow is a National Historic Landmark, home to America's longest-running dance festival, and a recipient of the National Medal of Arts.

Works & Process at the Guggenheim has announced its spring 2013 season. Since 1984, the performing-arts series has championed new works and offered audiences unprecedented access to leading creators and performers. Each intimate, 80-minute performance uniquely combines artistic creation and stimulating conversation and takes place in the Guggenheim's Frank Lloyd Wright-designed, 285-seat Peter B. Lewis Theater, where new reserved seating is now offered. A reception for the audience and artists follows most programs.
