Keegan Theatre kicks off its spring season with the high-octane rock musical American Idiot. Based on Green Day's Grammy Award-winning multi-platinum album and featuring the hits "Boulevard of Broken Dreams," "21 Guns," "Holiday" and the hit title track, American Idiot boldly took the American musical in a new direction, capturing not just the sound of a generation, but also the frustrations, fears, dreams and challenges of becoming an adult in the media-saturated, post-9/11 era.

This holiday season, Dublin, Ireland has its own 'Scrooge' to reform on a windy Christmas Eve in the Keegan Theatre's beloved holiday tradition, AN IRISH CAROL. Written by Matthew J Keenan and directed by Mark A. Rhea, AN IRISH CAROL is back on stage for its five year anniversary.

Jessica Dickey's world-premiere comedic drama THE GUARD, currently playing at Ford's Theatre, paints masterful depictions of not only Rembrandt and Homer, but also those in modern times who cherish their works and wish to find beauty and memory themselves.

Ford's Theatre Society welcomes Tim Getman (Round House's Rapture, Blister, Burn; Fool for Love), Mitchell Hebert (Ford's The Laramie Project), Josh Sticklin (Keegan Theatre's Midsummer Night's Riot), Kathryn Tkel (Kennedy Center's Mockingbird) and Craig Wallace (Ford's The Laramie Project, Our Town, Necessary Sacrifices, others) will comprise the cast of THE GUARD, a world-premiere comedic drama by playwright Jessica Dickey. Playwright Jessica Dickey and her world-premiere play, THE GUARD, are recipients of the National Theatre Conference's 2015 Barrie and Bernice Stavis Award -- an annual award celebrating outstanding emerging playwrights.

This December, in a special fundraising initiative, The Keegan Theatre brings back its beloved holiday show, An Irish Carol, for five performances at Theater J. All proceeds from these performances will go to the company's capital campaign, with a special emphasis on finishing the basement level, or "artist space."

Actor Josh Sticklin turns in a superb performance in Rosemary Jenkinson's world premiere of A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S RIOT, at the Keegan Theatre in Washington, DC. The play sensitively and humorously explores the plight of the residents of the Protestant Cluan neighborhood in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
