Wolf Trap will feature the Latin Dance Company Ballet Hispanico; Contemporary Jazz Hits from Norah Jones and Sasha Dobson; Americana singers/songwriters Brandi Carlile, Josh Ritter and The Lumineers; and the Comedic Opera Pirates of Penzance from the New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players, between today, June 26th and 30th.

Terre Jones Receives NOVAForward Award

On June 20, the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce (Fairfax Chamber) awarded Terrence D. Jones, President and CEO of Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts, with the prestigious NOVAForward Award. Bestowed yearly upon a Northern Virginia influencer in honor of their commitment to advancing the region, Jones was recognized during a luncheon attended by 700 leaders of the corporate, nonprofit, and political community.

Tift Merritt Announces TRAVELING ALONE Album, New Tour

Tift Merritt's highly anticipated Yep Roc Records label debut Traveling Alone is due October 2. The album was recorded in Brooklyn with Tucker Martine (The Decemberists, My Morning Jacket, Spoon) and features a guest appearance by Andrew Bird as well as performances by Marc Ribot, Rob Burger (Lucinda Williams, Iron & Wine, Rufus Wainwright), John Convertino (Calexico), Eric Heywood (The Jayhawks, Son Volt, Alejandro Escovedo) and Merritt's longtime collaborator Jay Brown.

Drawing together collaborators from the worlds of music, literature and comedy, the Cabinet of Wonders features Harding curating, hosting and performing with a number of hand-picked artists in a variety show format. After a run of shows that included appearances by Edie Brickell, Sondre Lerche, Eugene Mirman, Rick Moody, A.C. Newman, the Punch Brothers, Josh Ritter, Sarah Vowell, Colson Whitehead and many others, Harding goes on in May to feature performances by artists including Kurt Braunohler, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Janeane Garofalo, Kelly Hogan, Lenny Kaye, Sam Lipsyte, Tift Merritt & Simone Dinnerstein and Langhorne Slim.

Wolf Trap to Include Demi Lovato, Lyle Lovett, et al. in Summer Season

Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts announces its entire 2012 Summer season, featuring 92 performances at the majestic Filene Center amphitheater, nine evenings of opera at The Barns at Wolf Trap, and 34 performances in 108 days at Wolf Trap's Children's Theatre-in-the-Woods.

Rufus Wainwright Announces Summer North American Tour

Rufus Wainwright will take his new album Out of the Game out on the road with an 8-piece band this Spring & Summer for a highly anticipated North American tour. This is the first time he has toured with a band since 2008's 'Release The Stars' tour.
