Emerging Artists Theatre, the company that produced last season's hit Penny Penniworth, presents the Off-Broadway premiere of The Sensational Josephine Baker, a rich, comedic, moving musical portrait of the unique iconic Jazz Age legend, Josephine Baker. Preview performances begin Tuesday, September 7th, opening night will be Tuesday, September 14 and the play will run through Sunday, October 3rd at TADA Theatre, 15 West 28th Street, 2nd floor, between Broadway and 5th Avenue. Show times are: Tuesday and Friday at 7pm; Wednesday and Sunday at 2pm; and Saturday at 5pm and 9pm. The Great Game: Afghanistan - a festival exploring Afghan culture and history through twelve plays, a five day film programme, a ceramic exhibition and discussion sessions will close at the Tricycle Theatre on 29 August 2010.

The Griot Museum of Black History, formerly The Blackworld History Wax Museum, is getting a new look with banners for its exterior! The two 20' x 4', vibrant full-color banners feature portraits of life-size figures and themes in the Griot, located at 2505 St. Louis Ave. Some of the figures on the banners are Josephine Baker, Percy Green, Dred & Harriet Scott and Miles Davis. The banners were designed by Triune Communication and will be installed by Person Roofing. Their design and production was made possible by a grant from the Missouri Humanities Council. Installation will begin at approximately 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 15.
