Feinstein's Presents Raquel Bitton, A LITTLE BIT OF PARIS

By:

FEINSTEIN'S AT LOEWS REGENCY, the nightclub proclaimed "Best of New York" by New York Magazine, and "an invaluable New York institution" by The New York Post, continues its Winter 2011 season with the debut of acclaimed French jazz vocalist, RAQUEL BITTON. Accompanied by an eight-piece band, Ms. Bitton's show "A Little Bit of Paris" features the songs of Edith Piaf, Josephine Baker, Charles Trenet and others from France in the 1930's and 1940's. To coincide with her engagement at Feinstein's, Ms. Bitton's film "Piaf... Her Story... Her Songs" will air on PBS / WNET 13 on February 13 at 12:30 PM. Both shows take place at the Loews Regency Hotel (540 Park Avenue at 61st Street).

RAQUEL BITTON is recognized as the foremost singer of French Jazz music in America today and has been internationally praised as a superb interpreter of the music from the Edith Piaf repertoire. She has performed her hit show, "Raquel Bitton Sings Piaf - Her Story, Her Songs" to sold-out performances at notable concert halls across North America including three sold out performances at Carnegie Hall, once with Skitch Henderson and the New York Pops.

Raquel was born in Marrakesh, Morocco and she and her family moved to San Francisco In 1970, as a teenager, where she began her American career, focusing on the songs from the French l'Age d'Or. She discovered her French repertoire by dusting off her father's old records that he brought with him to America. Raquel was drawn to the passionate melodies and lyrics of the romantic period of the 1930's and 40's. Raquel's insatiable appetite for songs of the heart led her to the Edith Piaf songbook. Raquel became not only an expert historian on the life and songs of Edith Piaf, but also a renowned interpreter of her music, singularly able to capture the complete essence of one of the great vocalists of the 20th Century.

FEINSTEIN'S AT LOEWS REGENCY will present RAQUEL BITTON on Sunday, February 13 and Monday, February 14 at 8:30 PM. Performances have a $60.00 cover with $75.00 premium seats available, in addition to a $25.00 food and beverage minimum. Jackets are suggested but not required. The club is located at 540 Park Avenue at 61st Street in New York City.
