David DiCristofaro to be Honored for The Wells Fargo Diversity Project at Pasadena Playhouse, 11/6

The Wells Fargo Theatrical Diversity Project opening night celebration honors Playhouse Executive Board Member David DiCristofaro of Wells Fargo Bank tonight for his leadership and support of theatrical diversity at The Pasadena Playhouse. The evening is held in conjunction with the official opening night performance of BLUES FOR AN ALABAMA SKY starring Robin Givens.

Bradley Whitford, Robin Givens to Lead Pasadena Playhouse's BLUES FOR AN ALABAMA SKY & ART

The Pasadena Playhouse announced that Bradley Whitford is set to play the role of 'Marc' in ART and Robin Givens is to play the role of 'Angel' in BLUES FOR AN ALABAMA SKY at The Pasadena Playhouse. BLUES FOR AN ALABAMA SKY, by Pearl Cleage, will be directed by Artistic Director Sheldon Epps and performs November 1 - 27, with the official press opening on November 6, 2011. ART, by Yasmina Reza, will be directed by David Lee and performs January 24 - February 19, with the official press opening on January 29, 2012.

The Pasadena Playhouse Announces BLUES FOR AN ALBAMA SKY, Runs 11/1-27

The Pasadena Playhouse (Sheldon Epps, Artistic Director and Stephen Eich, Executive Director) announced today that BLUES FOR AN ALABAMA SKY, by Pearl Cleage, is set as the second production of the 2011 - 2012 season. Pasadena Playhouse Artistic Director Sheldon Epps is also confirmed to direct the production. BLUES FOR AN ALABAMA SKY will replace the engagement of Pastoral which was to have starred Angela Bassett this fall. Performances begin November 1, 2011 and the production will play through November 27, 2011 at The Pasadena Playhouse (39 S. El Molino).

Rare Terra Theatre Presents A BEAUTIFUL SPELL, Closes 8/7

Rare Terra Theatre celebrates its return to the Chicago theatre scene with the world premiere of A Beautiful Spell at the Royal George Gallery, 1641 N. Halsted. The production, written by Greg Kalleres and directed by Ian Streicher, closes August 7 and features Profile Theatre Ensemble Member Eric Burgher and New York-based actress Maggie Corbett.
