Aspen Santa Fe Ballet, the innovative contemporary Dance Company from the American West led by Artistic Director Tom Mossbrucker and Executive Director Jean-Philippe Malaty, returns to the Harris Theater, 205 E. Randolph Street, for one performance only tonight, October 5 at 7:30 pm.

In Repertory Dance Theatre's fall show LEGACY, a significant piece of history is being commemorated: the rise of a near-devastated people from the ashes of World War II. 'Missa Brevis' is more than a dance, it calls to mind how humans navigate faith, art and war.

For the first time in over fifty years, Harbinger Records will release 'Ballads for the Age of Science,' the most successful educational recordings of all time, as a six-CD box set. Featuring more than four dozen original songs written by Hy Zaret, co-author of the iconic popular song 'Unchained Melody,' and Lou Singer between 1959 and 1961, the albums introduced scientific concepts and terms using catchy, easy-to-learn lyrics and music to grade school students across America in the early 1960s.

Stephen Pier has achieved a uniquely rich and varied career as a dancer, teacher, and choreographer. His credits as a performer include many years with the Jose Limon Dance Company where the New York press hailed him as '...one of the most gifted dancers on the modern dance scene today.' He went on to become a leading soloist with the Hamburg Ballet in Germany, performing the title roles in John Neumeier's Othello and Saint Matthew's Passion, and creating numerous other major roles during his nine years with the company. As a member of the Royal Danish Ballet for six years, Mr. Pier had the privilege of dancing leading roles in works of Bournonville, Balanchine, MacMillan, Bejart, and collaborating with many of Europe's finest contemporary choreographers.

If Opera be the Food of Love, Eat On, starring Chef Matthew Passaclacqua of Lure Grill & Wendy Taucher Dance Opera Theater. The Opera Dinner will be presented on Saturday, October 19th, 2013 at the Winnetu Oceanside Resort – Lure Grill (31 Dunes Road Edgartown, MA 02539). The evening combines opera classics, great food, in a lovely setting for this unique cabaret-style event. This special event is a part of the annual Martha's Vineyard Food & Wine Festival - a celebration of sea, farm and vine (October 17-20, 2013).

Two years into its second half-century, La MaMa, under the artistic direction of Mia Yoo, continues the omnivorous work of its founder, the late Ellen Stewart. Dixon Place is proud to present Eclipsis Flamenco: Encounter of Two Worlds, an original intensely passionate dance theatrical piece documenting the historical merging of the Pre-Colombian and Spanish cultures that birthed 'mestizaje,' (mixed cultures) the very foundation of Mexican life. Under the artistic direction of the Mexican Flamenco star, Maria Elena Anaya, Eclipsis Flamenco becomes an exuberant celebration. The plasticity, strength, rhythm and eroticism that emerge from the interaction of pre-Hispanic dance and Mexican folklore reverberate in the profound chords of the guitar, percussion and 'cante flamenco.' The all-professional company's dancers, singers, and musicians trace the development of the dynamic cultural fusion of these two worlds revealing a vision of life full of pride, passion, honor, love, and sorrow.

La MaMa presents Maureen Fleming in the New York premiere of B. MADONNA. Created, choreographed, and performed by Fleming, it features text by Tony Award winner David Henry Hwang, music by Philip Glass performed live by pianist Bruce Brubaker, original accordion by Guy Klucevsek, Taiko drumming by Kaoru Watanabe and three-dimensional video projections by longtime collaborator Christopher Odo. Performances begin October 17 at The Ellen Stewart Theater at La MaMa. Please note: This performance contains nudity.

MARENA PEREZ, principal dancer of the Balleteatro Nacional de Puerto, and DANIEL RAMIREZ, principal soloist of the Balleteatro Nacional de Puerto Rico, will be members of the faculty for the Greater York Dance Center for Education's Summer Intensive from today, July 29-August 2, 2013 in York, Pennsylvania.

Due to popular demand and critical acclaim, WANDA'S MONSTER A Family Musical will receive a commercial Off-Broadway engagement beginning tonight, July 13 and running through September 8 at The Vineyard's Dimson Theatre (108 East 15th Street), it has been announced by Barbara Zinn Krieger, Artistic Director of Making Books Sing, the non-profit and theatre company that commissioned the musical and presented it to critical acclaim and sold-out houses earlier this season.

Repertory Dance Theatre invites the public to a formal workshop showing of Summerdance 2013: THEN & NOW today, June 28th at 6:00 pm at the Rose Wagner. At this in-depth dance workshop, June 17-29, RDT is hosting over 30 intermediate/advanced dancers from across the country for an intensive that explores modern dance history as well as composition. Workshop guest artists are Nina Watt from the Jose Limon Dance Company and Kurt Koegel of Moving Research.
