Playwrights Horizons Now Accepting $5 Lottery Entries for THE CHRISTIANS' First Preview

Playwrights Horizons begins accepting entries today, Wednesday, August 19, for the LIVEforFIVE online lottery for $5 tickets to their New York premiere of THE CHRISTIANS, a new play by Lucas Hnath (A Public Reading of an Unproduced Screenplay About the Death of Walt Disney, Isaac's Eye, Death Tax).  Directed by Obie Award winner Les Waters (Doris to Darlene at PH; the recent 10 Out of 12; In the Next Room, or the vibrator play; Big Love; eurydice), the play is the opening production of the theater company's 2015/2016 Season, and it's a co-production with L.A.'s Center Theatre Group (Michael Ritchie, Artistic Director; Stephen D. Rountree, Managing Director).

Diversionary to Stage West Coast Premiere of AMAZONS AND THEIR MEN

Diversionary Theatre is proud to present the innovative launch season for new Executive Artistic Director: Matt M. Morrow. The 30th anniversary for the non-profit will invite beloved audiences to five remarkable San Diego premiere productions. The first piece of this landmark year; Amazons and Their Men, is a West Coast Premiere that will feature Mr. Morrow's San Diego directing debut.

THE TWENTIETH-CENTURY WAY Begins Previews Off-Broadway Tonight

The Twentieth-Century Way, Tom Jacobson's acclaimed two- person play about homosexual entrapment in Los Angeles at the turn of the 20th century, premieres off-Broadway this spring. Directed by The Theatre @ Boston Court's Michael Michetti, and starring Will Bradley and Robert Mammana, the play begins previews tonight, May 28, 2015, with opening night set for June 3, 2015 at Rattlestick Playwrights Theatre (224 Waverly Place, NYC). The limited engagement will run through July 19, 2015.

Shattered Globe to Stage THE GROWN-UP at Theater Wit, 4/9-5/23

On the heels of its critically-acclaimed, sold-out production of The Rose Tattoo, Shattered Globe Theatre is pleased to conclude its 2014-15 season with the Chicago premiere of Jordan Harrison's hilarious kick in the heart, THE GROWN-UP, directed by Krissy Vanderwarker, playing April 9 - May 23, 2015 at Theater Wit, 1229 W. Belmont Ave. in Chicago. Shattered Globe will stage the second ever production of Harrison's new play, which debuted last year at Actors Theatre of Louisville's Humana Festival. Playwrights Horizons is now accepting entries for its popular LIVEforFIVE online lottery for up to two $5 tickets each to the New York premiere of THE QUALMS, a new play by Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winner Bruce Norris (Clybourne Park and The Pain and the Itch at PH, Domesticated).  Directed by Tony and Obie Award winner Pam MacKinnon (Clybourne Park and Completeness at PH; Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?; this season's A Delicate Balance and The Heidi Chronicles), the play is the final production of the theater company's 2014/2015 Season.   

Tony Shaloub & Brooke Adams Will Head Off-Broadway for HAPPY DAYS at The Flea

The Flea Theater has announced the New York premiere of The Theatre @ Boston Court's production of HAPPY DAYS by Samuel Beckett, directed by Andrei Belgrader. After critically acclaimed runs in Boston and LA, The Flea welcomes theater veterans Brooke Adams and Tony Award nominee Tony Shalhoub to Tribeca.  Previews begin June 20 with opening night slated for June 29.

DARLING GRENADINE in Concert Set for 5/12

Darling Grenadine is the whimsical new musical from singer-songwriter Daniel Zaitchik.  It tells the story of a successful commercial composer and his precarious relationships with his girlfriend, his brother, and his Labrador Retriever.
