Danai Gurira's FAMILIAR Extends at Playwrights Horizons

Due to critical acclaim and popular demand, Playwrights Horizons has announced an extension of their New York premiere production of FAMILIAR, a new play by Obie Award-winner Danai Gurira (Eclipsed now on Broadway, In the Continuum, The Convert, Michonne on AMC's 'The Walking Dead'). Directed by Rebecca Taichman (Stage Kiss, Milk Like Sugar at PH; The Oldest Boy; Marie Antoinette; Luck of the Irish; Orlando), the play is the fourth production of the theater company's 2015/2016 Season.

Clubbed Thumb Announces SUMMERWORKS Festival Lineup

?Five-time Obie Award-winning theater company Clubbed Thumb has announced the line-up for SUMMERWORKS, its annual series of new plays. Now in its 21st season, SUMMERWORKS will run May 27 through July 9 at The Wild Project (195 E 3rd Street) in Manhattan, and will feature productions of three new plays: EVERY ANGEL IS BRUTAL by Julia Jarcho and directed by Knud Adams; THE TOMB OF KING TOT by Eric Dufault and directed by Portia Krieger; and TUMACHO by Ethan Lipton and directed by Leigh Silverman. Firehouse Theatre to Stage MAPLE AND VINE, Begin. 4/7

Firehouse is pleased to announce the cast and performance schedule of our regional premiere of Jordan Harrison's MAPLE AND VINE -- a new play about old times. Previews are Thursday, April 7 and Friday, April 8 at 7:30pm. Opening is Saturday, April 9 at 7:30pm, and the runs continues through Sunday, May 8, 2016.

Artists Rep Sets 2016-17 Season

Artists Repertory Theatre announces a stylistically diverse season of seven imaginative and entertaining plays that grapple with family and the pursuit of happiness. The season features one World Premiere commissioned by Artists Rep's new play development program Table|Room|Stage, along with five Northwest Premieres (including a musical) by some of the best emerging contemporary playwrights in the country, and one re-imagined classic featuring an all-female cast. The 2016/17 selections emphasize the aesthetic and scope of work Artists Rep has been committed to producing for almost 35 years as Portland's premiere mid-size regional theatre.

Bristol Riverside Theatre to Present THE LANGUAGE ARCHIVE

The gulf between what's said and what isn't is at the heart of the sweet and whimsical comedy The Language Archive by Julia Cho, next up at Bristol Riverside Theatre on January 26-February 14.  Directed by Adam Immerwahr, the ensemble cast features Keith Baker, Irungu Mutu, Jo Twiss, Tiffany Villarin, and Julianna Zinkel.

City Theatre to Stage World Premiere of SOME BRIGHTER DISTANCE

The world premiere production of Some Brighter Distance continues the 2015-2016 season at City Theatre on the Mainstage, January 23 - February 14, 2016. The play is written by Keith Reddin and directed by City Theatre Artistic Director Tracy Brigden.  

Writers Theatre Extends MARJORIE PRIME

Artistic Director Michael Halberstam and Executive Director Kathryn M. Lipuma announce an additional two weeks of performances for the critically-acclaimed production of Marjorie Prime by Jordan Harrison, directed by Kimberly Senior. Due to demand, the show will now run through March 13, 2016 at Books on Vernon, 664 Vernon Ave, Glencoe.
