The Hilton Head International Piano Competition (HHIPC) will present its 2014 First Prize-winner, Shen Lu, at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall tonight, November 8, 2014, 2:30 p.m. Mr. Shen will perform works by Beethoven, Chopin, Tan Dun, Rachmaninoff, Ravel and Scarlatti.

The Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra performs Scheherazade on November 14-15, 2014 at the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts. Led by guest conductor Marcelo Lehninger, the performances feature Stravinsky's Suite No. 2 for Small Orchestra, Saint-Saëns's Piano Concerto No. 2 featuring Sean Chen, and Rimsky-Korsakov's iconic Scheherazade.

Benjamin Zander, Music Director and Conductor of the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra (BPO), is delighted to present the first program of the orchestra's 2014-2015 season, featuring Mozart's Overture to Cosi Fan Tutte and Sinfonia Concertante and Rachmaninoff's Symphony No. 2 tonight, October 23 and 26 at Sanders Theatre in Cambridge and on October 25 at Jordan Hall in Boston.

The Mimesis Ensemble presents 'Beyond Boundaries,' a program featuring vocal works with a social commentary. The concert will explore songs from the 20th and 21st centuries which examine topics ranging from the ancient story of Gilgamesh, the Americanization of Japan in the 1850's to the Great Depression and the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960's.

ODYSSEY OPERA, a new, Boston-based opera company dedicated to exploring the full spectrum of adventurous repertoire, revives an important 20th century masterpiece, Erich Wolfgang Korngold's Die tote Stadt. For one night only tonight, September 13th, Odyssey Opera presents the work's Boston premiere, which features the Boston debuts of tenor Jay Hunter Morris in the role of Paul and soprano Meagan Miller in the role of Marietta.

Matrix Theatre Company is introducing Hostel Theatre to provide a venue for those independent theatre makers that don't have one of their own. America's Oldest Continuing Summer Chamber Music Festival, Music Mountain, continues its 85th anniversary season with a talented trio performing Baroque Italian Opera Arias and Duets tonight, August 23 (6:30PM) followed by the Blair String Quartet performing with guest artist Melvin Chen, piano on Sunday, August 24 (3PM).
