Cantata Singers' 53rd season opens on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 8pm in New England Conservatory's Jordan Hall with J.S. Bach's intricate Cantata 109, radiant Cantata 147, and the U.S. premiere of Jan Dismas Zelenka's virtuosic 'Laetatus sum' featuring soprano Karyl Ryczek and mezzo-soprano Emily Marvosh.

Ocean State Theatre Company (OSTC), the not-for-profit professional theatre company, which recently completed its fourth season in its comfortable stadium-style theatre in Warwick, has announced the schedule for its 2016-17 Cabaret Club.

Cantata Singers' 2016-2017 season opens on October 15th at NEC's Jordan Hall with a concert featuring two Bach cantatas, and the virtuosic "Laetatus sum" for solo voices by Czech Baroque composer Jan Dismas Zelenka. Bach's Cantata 109, "Ich glaube, lieber Herr, hilf meinem Unglauben," examines the inner conflict between doubt and faith with deeply engaging, intricately woven music. The fiery finale sets one of the most famous of Lutheran hymns, "Durch Adams Fall," to music. The radiant and richly expressive Cantata 147, "Herz und Mund und Tat und Leben," features what has become some of Bach's most famous music (known colloquially as "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring"). eweddle@cantatasingers.org

MILWAUKEE, WIS. 03/08/2016– The Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra announces two concerts performed on back to back weekends at the Pabst Theater highlighting the works of Mozart. Mozart + More features guest conductor Ben Gernon and cellist Narek Hakhnazaryan on March 31, April 1, and 2. Mozart's “Jupiter” features guest conductor Courtney Lewis on April 8, 9 and 10.

Franklin Performing Arts Company's annual, free Family Concert Series concludes this season with Opera for Kids, The Three Little Pigs, on Sunday, April 10 at 2 p.m. at THE BLACK BOX, 15 West Central Street, in downtown Franklin.

The Boston Modern Orchestra Project (BMOP), the 2016 Musical America Ensemble of the Year, ends its 20th anniversary season with the Boston premiere of David Del Tredici's complete Child Alice (1981) featuring the acclaimed soprano Courtenay Budd. Based on poems prefacing Lewis Carroll's Through the Looking Glass and Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, this 135-minute evening-length work changed the course of 20th century music.

Two Concert Artists Guild Victor Elmaleh Competition winners have been awarded Avery Fisher career grants, a cash prize given to young artists on the verge of major careers. This year grants of $25,000 are presented to violinists Alexi Kenney, Tessa Lark, and Sean Lee, cellist Jay Campbell, and pianist George Li.

 The Chamber Music Society of Detroit will present Musicians from Marlboro as part of the Marlboro Music Festival's 50th anniversary 8-city national tour on Saturday, April 9, 2016, 8 PM at Seligman Performing Arts Center.  This year's ensemble features brilliant young professional musicians together with celebrated master artists, including violinists Robin Scott and Itamar Zorman, violist Samuel Rhodes, cellist Brook Speltz and pianist Cynthia Raim.  The program includes Haydn's String Quartet in C major, Op. 20, No. 2, Alban Berg's Lyric Suite, and Dvo?ak's Piano Quintet in A major.

The Lisa Smith Wengler Center for the Arts concludes its 2015-2016 Recital Series with a special performance by the internationally award-winning cellist Narek Hakhnazaryan in Raitt Recital Hall at Pepperdine University at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 10.
