Following sold out performances in LA and a critically acclaimed run at the undergroundzero festival in 2009, comes the Off-Broadway premiere of Pinchbottom's PRETENÇIÓN, UN CIRQUE DE BURLESQUE, UN BURLESQUE DE CIRQUE, a satiric new play that looks at the pomp and spectacle that is 'Cirque' theatre. Pinchbottom's PRETENÇIÓN is written and directed by Jonathan Van Gieson, co-directed by Jeremy X. Halpern and began preview performances March 31 prior to an official press opening of April 14 at the Elektra Theatre (669 Eighth Avenue, btw 42nd and 43rd Streets) in Times Square. Heat up your holiday with Horse Trade Theater Group's (Artistic Director, Heidi Grumelot, Managing Director, Erez Ziv) 4th Annual Burlesque Blitz featuring Peter Aguero's storytelling burlesque show, Bare., Johnny Porkpie's Shocks and C*cks, and Storybook Burlesque's annual tradition, The Bible Show and a special holiday edition of Storybook's Edgar Allan Poe, Tales of the Macabre.

Following its return this summer after a two-year absence, Pinchbottom hits the stage again in the fall with a revival of their unauthorized James Bond parody You Only Pinch Twice. The show debuts the weekend of the UK release of the new official Bond movie, Skyfall (October 26-28), giving American fans 'something with which to whet their appetite while waiting for the film to make its way to our shores.' Pinchbottom has presented the show in conjunction with the release of every Bond movie since 2006.

“Mensch” is not a word you might immediately think of to describe Frank Sinatra, but the label seems to fit Cary Hoffman quite snugly.  And though his solo musical, My Sinatra, has the nice Jewish guy from Long Island singing fifteen Sinatra hits (“One For My Baby,” “”Summer Wind,” “Luck Be A Lady,” “The Lady Is A Tramp”… you know the rest.), it is not a celebrity impersonation show.  It's actually a very warm, enjoyable presentation of his lifelong obsession with the man who many would consider to be definitive male interpreter of American popular music.
