The Paley Center for Media is presenting the twenty-eighth annual PaleyFest: William S. Paley Television Festival (PaleyFest2011) from March 4 to 17, 2011 at the historic Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills, California. Established in 1998, the annual award is to an individual who has had an impact on American society in ways similar to 19th century novelist and essayist, Mark Twain. The ceremony, to be held Tuesday November 9, will feature a lineup of the biggest names in comedy, and will be taped for television broadcast.

Neil Patrick Harris premieres the teaser trailer for his new 3D movie, Smurfs. The movie, set for release on August 3, 2011, will be the first of the Smurfs trilogy. In addition to Patrick Harris' voice, the new trailer shows Smurfs in New York City.

Principal photography began Friday, March 26, in New York on Columbia Pictures'/Sony Pictures Animation's hybrid live-action and animated family comedy, The Smurfs, it was announced today by Bob Osher, president of Sony Pictures Digital Productions, Hannah Minghella, president of Sony Pictures Animation and Doug Belgrad, president of Columbia Pictures.
