On October 29th members of the original Canadian Cast of RENT will join together with Sheridan College students to perform a special 15th Anniversary tribute to Jonathan Larson's musical and raise money for Fife House. BWW is speaking with the alum about what RENT has meant to them and about the special evening. Today we're speaking with Jenifer Aubry, currently on stage in Toronto with Cirque du Soleil, about her time in RENT and what it meant to her.

Chad talks about the meaning of the show and how he has applied it to day to day life, about his RENT baby with Cristina Fadale and his hope for future generations of RENT stars.

Amandine, ten years in the making, is a collaboration between three of New York City's most distinctive theater artists: Winter Miller, 13P founding member who penned In Darfur (The Public Theater), among other acclaimed plays; Lance Horne, Emmy Award-winning composer and pianist known for his own work and collaborations with Alan Cumming, Amanda Palmer, Meow Meow, Sandra Bernhard and Justin Vivian Bond; and Drama Desk Award- winning director Josh Hecht (Christine Jorgensen Reveals), who specializes in new plays. Amandine is a singular love story, inspired by the incredible memoirs of Herculine Barbin, a 19th century intersex person who was raised a girl and died a man. The ensemble cast includes Broadway veterans Lea DeLaria, Nathan Lee Graham and Alexandra Silber, in a world premiere at the Cherry Lane Theatre (38 Commerce Street) main stage January 8-26, 2013.

Tonight, October 15, 2012, New York Theatre Barn will present NYTB in the D-Lounge, its monthly concert for emerging musical theatre writers (now in its 6th year), at the Daryl Roth Theatre. The October 2012 installment of NYTB in the D-Lounge features an excerpt from the new musical Academia Nuts called Speaking Geek: The Songs of Academia Nuts, as well as a selection of songs by Elyssa Samsel and Kate Anderson. The monthly series is executive produced by Laura Brandel and Jason Najjoum.

CAP21 Theatre Company Celebrates 20th Anniversary, Announces Upcoming Season

As the CAP21 Theatre Company celebrates their 20th Anniversary, Executive Artistic Director, Frank Ventura and Artistic Director, Eliza Ventura have announced CAP21's 2012-2013 ambitious "Season of New Work", which promises to further develop at least 20 new musicals in the coming year through various programming that the Theatre Company offers. Additionally the upcoming year will include two Off-Off Broadway productions: Maiden Voyage (working title) by musical team Michelle Elliott and Danny Larsen and Recount (working title), a co-production with Rescue Agreement. Both productions are being developed through CAP21 programs and resources.
