Julliard Presents KOMMILITONEN! Opera Nov. 16-20

This November, in Juilliard School's Peter Jay Sharp Theater, Anne Manson will conduct the U.S. premiere of Sir Peter Maxwell Davies' Kommilitonen! (Young Blood!) - an opera co-commissioned by Juilliard and the Royal Academy of Music - which received its world premiere in London this past March to remarkable critical acclaim. The production opens Juilliard's 2011-12 Vocal Arts season on Wednesday, November 16 at 8 PM, with additional performances on Friday, November 18 at 8 PM and Sunday, November 20 at 2 PM. David Pountney, librettist of the opera, provides stage direction, sets and costumes are by Robert Innes Hopkins, and choreography is by Carolum Choa.

Cabrillo Presents THE SOUND OF MUSIC, Closes 7/31

The hills will be alive in Thousand Oaks as Cabrillo Music Theatre proudly announces its brand-new production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's THE SOUND OF MUSIC. Sydney Chamber Opera Presents The Cunning Little Vixen

Janá?ek's classic modernist opera The Cunning Little Vixen comes to life at CarriageWorks in a new production directed by Kate Gaul, featuring Julie Goodwin, acclaimed star of West Side Story (2010/11) and The Phantom of the Opera (2007-9), as the Vixen and Bryony Dwyer, the Royal Australian Navy's principal singer as the Fox.

New Opera ANNA NICOLE to Play Royal Opera House in Feb. 2011

The new opera by Mark-Anthony Turnage and Richard Thomas entitled ANNA NICOLE, will debut at London's Royal Opera House in February of next year. The opera centers around the late actress/model Anna Nicole Smith.
