Opera Parallele (OP) has named national non-profit arts leader Debbie Chinn as its new Executive Director, Board of Directors Chairman Robert Rippshas announced. Ms. Chinn comes to Opera Parallele having served as Executive Director of the prestigious Carmel Bach Festival since 2012 and following previous positions at organizations including the San Francisco Symphony, the Philadelphia Orchestra, California Shakespeare Theater (CalShakes) and others.

San Francisco Opera Center Director Sheri Greenawald today announced the thirteen recipients of the 2017 Adler Fellowship. Nine singers, three pianist/apprentice coaches and one director will take part in the program-a multi-year performance-oriented residency offering advanced young artists intensive individual training, coaching and professional seminars, as well as a wide range of performance opportunities. Adler Fellows are selected from the young artists who have participated in the Merola Opera Program. The prestigious fellowship has nurtured the development of more than 175 young artists since its inception.

The first pictures are released today for a major new season of Anton Chekhov's early works at Chichester Festival Theatre. Newly adapted by David Hare and directed by Jonathan Kent, the productions present a unique theatrical event which will see a repertory cast of 23 actors performing 50 parts in Platonov, Ivanov and The Seagull. For the first time ever on this scale audiences will be given the opportunity to see all three shows in close proximity performed by the same group and with the same creative team. Their current production of 'Gotterdammerung', the final work in Wagner's vast tetralogy, is a showcase for some magnificent voices. Wagner would be pleased.
The St. Cyprian Singers, Clarence Gate, London will sing a free choral concert on Thursday, August 13, at 12:30 pm Primarily consisting of ex-Oxbridge choral scholars, the St. Cyprian's Singers were founded in 2012 as the choir of St. Cyprian's Church, Clarence Gate in London. Now one of the leading mixed voiced church choirs in the city, the main function of the group is to provide music at the regular choral mass on Sundays and special services throughout the year.
Festival d'Aix-en-Provence 2015, under the leadership of General Manager Bernard Foccroulle, will present world premiere productions of operas by Handel and Mozart; the return of director Robert Carsen's acclaimed 1991 Festival production of Benjamin Britten's A Midsummer Night's Dream; and the French premiere of Jonathan Dove's children's opera, The Monster in the Maze, led by Sir Simon Rattle with the London Symphony Orchestra. Major vocal presentations in 2015 will also include a new production of Serbian composer Ana Sokolovi?'s uncommonly original one-act a cappella opera Svadba (Marriage), and a double bill of Persephone-Stravinsky's hybrid musical work for speaker, singers, dancers, and orchestra-with Tchaikovsky's last opera, Iolanta.
Opera Holland Park is one of the most popular and highly-acclaimed events in London's musical calendar and their 19th season includes a mixture of five new productions and revivals in 36 main-stage public performances. The City of London Sinfonia will accompany all these productions for their 12th year as house orchestra.
