Composer and lyricist Jonathan Brielle will perform in an evening of his original songs - 'I Saw Broadway,' on Monday, April 25 at 7pm at Birdland Jazz Club (315 W. 44th Street).

Whitney Bashor (The Bridges of Madison County) will star opposite the previously announced Matt Bogart (Jersey Boys, Miss Saigon) in the new musical Himself and Nora, it was announced today. Bashor will play Nora to Bogart's James Joyce and additional casting will be announced in the coming weeks.

On March 10, guests at Paddy Reilly's Music Bar got quite the treat at the venue's weekly open mic. Off-Broadway's HIMSELF AND NORA author/composer Jonathan Brielle and star Matt Bogart surprised them with two songs from the show, which begins this May at the Minetta Lane Theatre. Celebrating their fourth year of introducing New Jersey middle school students to the magic of musical theater, the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) and The Johnny Mercer Foundation (JMF) announced that three new schools and two new teaching artists have joined this year's program.

In what has become an annual ritual, a total of 36 established and emerging composers, lyricists, and librettists will converge on the Goodspeed campus from mid-January through mid-February 2016 to participate in the Johnny Mercer Foundation Writers Colony at Goodspeed Musicals. The writing teams, representing 19 new musicals, will populate the campus, creating a truly exciting environment for discovery and inspiration. M?TM, a small professional theatre company entering its tenth anniversary season, will close out 2015 with a series of free readings of musicals at locations intended to set the tone for each piece. The Development Wing presented its fourth annual Broadway Under the Stars benefit concert on Saturday, June 6, 2015. The exclusive, one-night-only event was hosted by acclaimed writer/lyricist Jonathan Brielle, Artistic Director of The Development Wing and Vice President of The Johnny Mercer Foundation, and featured musical performances by Broadway's best, including Roz Ryan (Chicago, Ain't Misbehavin'), Cole Burden (Murder Ballad), Brooke Sunny Moriber (The Threepenny Opera), Ken Prymus (Cats, The Wiz), Patricia Noonan (Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice), along with young artists,Jenna Downs, Jake Swain, and more.
