The National Jazz Museum in Harlem has added a slew of new events with Jonathan Batiste. Below you will find the entire calendar of events for September with three new Jazz Is:Now! additions. The museum is also happy to announce that Greg Thomas will host next Tuesday's 'Words on Bird' event accompanied by pianst Chris Pattishall.
Single tickets for the 2013-14 season at the Center for the Performing Arts - home of the Palladium, the Tarkington Theater and Studio Theater - are available for purchase on Monday, August 12. 'The 2013-14 Season presented by St.Vincent Health' will include performances by Willie Nelson, Lang Lang, Midori, Buddy Guy, Patti Lupone, Merle Haggard, and Kenny Rogers.
Monthly FREE Sittin' In Jam Sessions continues during the dog days of summer with Host Julie Dexter kicking it up a notch on Wednesday, August 14 with a dance party and live show in the Kimmel Center's Commonwealth Plaza. Host Jonathan Batiste takes the lead on September 11.
Cécile McLorin Salvant will be appearing Friday, August 23rd at The Stage @ Rockwells, with shows 7:30 and 9:30 PM. $35 cover, $10 food/drink minimum per person, per set.

Cecile McLorin Salvant was born and raised in Miami, Florida of a French mother and a Haitian father. She started classical piano studies at 5, and began singing in the Miami Choral Society at 8. Early on, she developed an interest in classical voice, began studying with private instructors, and later with Edward Walker, vocal teacher at the University of Miami.
The ninth annual From the Top Gala fundraiser, UNIQUE AND UNMISSABLE, will take place tonight, May 22 at 6:30 PM at the Back Bay Events Center (180 Berkeley Street, Boston). The evening will include performances by the nation's outstanding young classical musicians with From the Top host and renowned concert pianist Christopher O'Riley. Jonathan Batiste and The Stay Human Band from New York, NY will be featured throughout the evening. Proceeds benefit From the Top's mission to support and celebrate America's next generation of classical musicians. Past From the Top galas have raised more than $300,000.
