Birdland Jazz Club will present New York, Old Friend-The Songs of Ken Laub, a celebration of the sights, scenes and relationships in New York City, for one night only as part of the "Broadway at Birdland" concert series, on Monday, June 25, 2018 @7pm.

The BMI Jazz Composers Workshop, a longstanding program for aspiring jazz music composers, will present the best new big band and jazz orchestra compositions created during the past year at the 30th Annual Summer Showcase Concert. The BMI/New York Jazz Orchestra, a 17-piece modern repertory ensemble made up of leading New York musicians, will be featured at the event held at The Marjorie S. Deane Little Theater (10 West 64th Street) today, June 14th at 7:30 PM.

Deane Little Theater (10 West 64th Street) on Thursday, June 14th at 7:30 PM.

Birdland will kick-off their great week of programming with Stacey Kent, Tiffany Austin Septet featuring special guest Carl Allen, Bruce Harris, and more!

The BMI/New York Jazz Orchestra, a 17-piece modern repertory ensemble made up of leading New York musicians, will be featured at the event held at The Marjorie S. Deane Little Theater (10 West 64th Street) onThursday, June 14th at 7:30 PM. The show is FREE and open to the public with seating first come, first serve. Doors will be at 7 PM.

Karamu House, the oldest multicultural performing arts center in the country, closes it's 102nd consecutive season with the Tony Award-winning musical Passing Strange. Karamu House President and CEO, Tony F. Sias notes, 'this is a piece that is important and relevant, and speaks to and engages our millennial and 'genZ' generations.' With book and lyrics written by Tony Award-winning singer-songwriter Stew, and music composed by Stew and Heidi Rodewald, the production opened on May 10 and will run through June 3, 2018 in Karamu's Arena Theatre in Cleveland, Ohio.

Tony Award winning choreographer and director George Faison (The Wiz) presented Andre De Shields, a two-time Tony nominee, Drama Desk nominee, Emmy winner and multi-Audelco Award and Outer Critics Circle Award winner, with the 2018 Bob Harrington Lifetime Achievement Award at the 33rd Annual Bistro Awards Gala, held at Gotham Comedy Club in New York on March 12th. De Shields received the Bistro Awards' highest honor for his five decades of stage and nightclub accomplishments.

Coronado Playhouse 2018 Season continues with Songs For A New Year, an evening of the works of Jason Robert Brown, presented by The Prosecco Players, running for three performances on March 2-4, 2018 at Coronado Playhouse. The Playhouse's 2018 concert series highlights the talents of three eminent American songwriters. This first production, Songs For A New Year, features the works of the multi award-winning composer and lyricist Jason Robert Brown.

It 's been almost a year since Top Guitarist Frank Vignola catapulted into a tree from an off - road - vehicle in a tragic accident that nearly took his life. After being air - lifted to a renowned N.Y. area trauma center, Frank's family learned of his extensive injuries which included four broken ribs, a broken clavicle, shoulder (in two places), and arm, which has since required multiple surgeries. Additionally , Vignola suffered two collapsed lungs and massive internal bleeding.

CYNTHIA SAYER, the internationally celebrated jazz banjoist and vocalist, will lead her Joyride Quartet in The Hot Jazz Banjo Show in a rare New York City concert appearance at the legendary jazz club Birdland on Thursday, March 15 at 6:00 PM. Birdland is located at 315 W. 44th Street in Manhattan. Tickets: $30.

Birdland will kick-off their great week of programming with an exciting series of acts

The Bickford Theatre presents the annual birthday bash for Hall of Fame guitarist Bucky Pizzarelli on Monday, January 8th. Bucky, who turns 92 on January 9th, has been at this annual birthday party every year with the exception of his 90th when he was in the hospital. He will bring an all-star ensemble with him including Martin Pizzarelli on bass, Ed Laub on guitar, Russ Kassoff on piano, Linus Wyrsch on sax, and Aaron Weinstein on violin.
