Although I was set to see The Little Mermaid shortly after its opening, an actor's absence due to illness resulted in the rescheduling of many press seats to later dates, which is why I'm posting this a good two and a half weeks after the big night. Live theatre, kiddies.

On Monday, May 19, 2008, The Westchester Broadway Theatre will again, be hosting the annual Cab Calloway Lifetime Achievement Awards for 2008.

John Treacy Egan, currently starring as Chef Louis in Disney's THE LITTLE MERMAID, will perform solo concerts at The Metropolitan Room on Sunday, May 11th at 9:30pm and Monday, May 26th at 9:30pm. Egan will perform songs from his debut CD, Count the Stars, which is available now on iTunes and Cdbaby.com. Alan Menken, the Academy Award-winning composer of Disney's The Little Mermaid will be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame on June 19 at the Marriott Marquis Theatre in New York City.

On Tuesday, February 26, Walt Disney Records will release the original Broadway cast recording of Disney's The Little Mermaid. In celebration, there will be a cast performance and CD signing at World of Disney (711 5th Avenue at 55th Street) on Tuesday, February 26 from 4-6PM.
