Warehouse Theatre will open its 2016 season with a new stage adaptation of John Hughes' classic 1980s teen comedy The Breakfast Club. The play will receive its Central Ohio premiere at Warehouse Theatre beginning with a preview performance tonight, January 21, 2016 at MadLab Theatre (227 N. Third Street).

M&M Productions brings this American comedy classic to the stage at Mercer County Community College's (MCCC's) Kelsey Theatre on Fridays, Jan. 22 and 29 at 8 p.m.; Saturdays, Jan. 23 and 30 at 8 p.m.; and Sundays, Jan. 24 and 31 at 2 p.m.

As if hosting a screening of the classic teen movie The Breakfast Club in celebration of the film's 30th anniversary wasn't enough for avid fans of John Hughe's hit, eternal teen idol Molly Ringwald will be on hand at New Jersey Performing Arts Center for a Q&A session on Friday, Dec. 11. In anticipation of Friday's event, BroadwayWorld.com asked the "it" girl of the 80's a few questions of our own.

The McCarter Theatre Center's production of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol has become a welcome holiday treat for families across the region. This heartwarming and powerfully honest musical adaptation of Dickens' classic novel is a wonderful way to honor tradition while experiencing the joys and warmth of a holiday favorite. A Christmas Carol runs from Dec. 4 through Dec. 27 on the Matthews Stage.

The Falcon Theatre welcomes Kevin Blake now performing the role of 'F. Scott Fitzgerald' alongside Ty Mayberry as 'Ernest Hemingway' and Jackie Seiden as 'Eve Montaigne' in SCOTT AND HEM, written by Mark St. Germain and directed by Dimitri Toscas now through November 15.

On Monday, October 5, the Festival of New American Musicals presented two more songs from Emojiland: The Musical as part of their Musi-Cal 2015 Finale at Rockwell Table & Stage in Los Angeles.

The 1980's were an interesting time for movies with teen comedy/dramas seemingly appearing everywhere, and one of the most intriguing aspects of these pictures was the absence of many adult characters. The late John Hughes was responsible for several "brat pack" films that established a distinct tone for this genre, but it was near the end of this cycle that director Michael Lehmann and screenwriter Daniel Waters put together something that took those established tropes in an entirely different, and decidedly dark, direction with the movie HEATHERS. The musical version had a run Off-Broadway in 2014, and now you can see it in all its pitch black glory with New Line Theatre's amazing production, which opens their 25th season. Not only is it a fantastic and edgy show, but it also marks their first presentation in their new venue, the Marcelle Theater (lovingly designed by Rob Lippert). This is a dazzling and intense show that features a smartly crafted book and score, courtesy of Laurence O'Keefe and Kevin Murphy, as well as an excellent cast and expert direction. This is beyond must-see entertainment. This is an accomplishment you absolutely have to check out. You'll be dazzled by its brilliance, and completely floored by the wonderful performances you'll be witness to.

jes films (lead by producers Jodi Schoenbrun Carter and Evie Whiting) and 1022m announced today that Sara Ramirez, the Tony Award-winning star of 'Grey's Anatomy,' has joined the producing team of the new feature film Loserville.

Emma Hunton (Wicked, Next to Normal, Spring Awakening) recently took to the Rockwell stage, performing songs ranging from Fleetwood Mac's 'Go Your Own Way' to Radiohead's 'Creep.' Guest stars included Glee's Lindsay Pearce and Dear John Hughes' Michael Thomas Grant. Grant is currently performing alongside Hunton in 'The Unauthorized Musical Parody of Clueless,' playing now through October 2nd at Rockwell Table and Stage. Hunton honored her Broadway roots with a performance of Spring Awakening's 'Touch Me.'

Beginning tonight, September 15, West End alumna RACHEL TUCKER joins the Broadway company of WICKED in the role of 'Elphaba'. After nearly three years and over 1,000 performances, Rachel holds the record for most consecutive performances as Elphaba in London's West End production. She made her Broadway debut last season as Meg Dawson in Sting's THE LAST SHIP.

 Kicking off the 2015-16 season and the company's ninth season is the cult-classic novel made into a cult-classic film made into a cult-classic musical theater piece as American Repertory Theater of WNY presents CARRIE, THE MUSICAL. From the mind of Stephen King to the film directorial eyes of Brian DePalma to the musical creativity of Michael Gore, this is an ugly ducking turn prom queen who sees this dream turn into a 'night we'll never forget' story. 

Street Theatre Company, well-known amongst Nashville audiences for staging darkly edgy productions, brings yet another musical premiere to Nashville with the Off-Broadway hit HEATHERS. Based on the cult classic movie of the same name, the musical centers around three shoulder-padded, scrunchie-wearing Heathers in the 1980s, who are the hottest and cruelest girls in school. The Heathers are in trouble when a misfit rejects them for the dark, sexy stranger who plans to put them in their place -- six feet under.

The Pasadena Playhouse (Sheldon Epps, Artistic Director) announced today that legendary director, choreographer and producer Kenny Ortega will be the 2015 Diversity Award Artistic Honoree, and Abel Ramirez, founder of Pasadena's El Portal Restaurant and business and cultural leader of the Pasadena community, will be the Community Honoree at the 9th Annual Pasadena Playhouse's Wells Fargo Theatrical Diversity Project fundraising benefit on Sunday, September 13, 2015, in honor of the opening of Josefina Lopez's Real Women Have Curves.
