The peculiarity of the CVIFA is it is designed only for Indie filmmakers who are relegated to the background, never acknowledged or given a chance to display their artistry due to financial impediments and unfamiliar actors.
The award is not in any way encouraging obscurity or mediocrity, but rather its main thrust is to offer encouragements and support for these filmmakers who are still in their in their developing stage.

The vision of CV Indie Film awards was birthed by Gina Carey, an Indie Filmmaker, CEO of Gina Carey films and Gico Music. Gina has had a fair share of the rough, tight paths of the entertainment industry. She understands how challenging the industry can be without sufficient monetary supports and what it holds for upcoming artists, hence the need for the awards. Independent filmmakers have found the awards very beneficial, inspiring with outstanding exposure.
