The winners of the 48th annual George London Foundation Awards Competition for young American and Canadian opera singers were announced at the conclusion of the competition's final round this evening, which took place before an enthusiastic audience at Gilder Lehrman Hall at The Morgan Library & Museum in New York City.

The character of JonBenet Ramsey, whose 1996 murder in Boulder spurred an international media obsession that continues to this day, is at the heart of the controversial, allegorical play "House of Gold," by Gregory S. Moss, which will open square product theatre's 12th season in a regional premiere July 29.

The Denver Center for the Performing Arts (DCPA) has announced the full casting and artistic teams for their fall Theater Company productions of The Glass Menagerie and Frankenstein. John Hauser, formerly Director of the Rehearsal Department of the Metropolitan Opera, has joined the George London Foundation for Singers in the new position of Artistic Director, assisting the foundation's president, Nora London, with artistic planning.  Stephanie Lamprea continues as General Administrator.  Founded in 1971, the New York-based George London Foundation supports and nurtures young opera singers with an annual competition and recital series.
