Philadelphia's Wilma Theater has announced casting for its upcoming production of William Shakespeare's MACBETH. The production will run from September 29 to November 7, with an official opening on Ocotber 6. It will be directed by Blanka Zizka.

Inspired by the 1934 Taxi Strike, this powerfully moving classic has become one of the most important plays of the modern American theater. Set in the Depression era and dealing with the cynical exploitation of the working classes, Lefty Costello (Joseph Mancuso) leads a group of disgruntled cabbies to fight for the rights they deserve.

Chicago Dramatists announced today that Resident Playwright Lydia Diamond's play Stick Fly was nominated for 5 LA Stage Alliance Ovation Awards (including Best Production, Director, Ensemble, Lighting and Scenic) and Resident Playwright Keith Huff's play The Bird and Mr. Banks was also nominated for Ovation Awards for Best Actor for Sam Anderson (Bernard on 'Lost') and Best Sound Design.
