Over the weekend, the cast got a special treat when the legendary Mikhail Baryshnikov caught the performance. After the show, he had some fun with the cast backstage.

The concept of nightclub musicals being performed as if in the Cabaret, or perhaps La Cage if you prefer, has been turned on its rear. 'The Fartiste,' a clever new musical directed by John Gould Rubin, transforms the entire downstairs area of Sofia's into the infamous Moulin Rouge, complete with can-can girls and a riotous emcee. The talented 6-person cast filled the entire space throughout the 90 minute show fully immersing the audience into the world of Joseph Pujol.

Labyrinth Theater Company has announced final casting for the World Premiere Production of The Atmosphere of Memory by David Bar Katz. The Private Theatre's Summer Scene Intensive consists of 6 rigorous weeks of class. It is designed to work through three genres of scene study: Classical (Shakespeare, 15th Century drama, etc.), 19th & 20th Century (Chekhov, Ibsen, Shaw, etc.), and Contemporary scenes. Everyone will work during every class and it is expected that everyone rehearse outside of class. The final class will be open to the public.

Helen Stenborg, a Tony-nominated, Obie Award-winning actress and long-time spouse of the late Tony Award-winning actor Barnard Hughes, died Tuesday evening, March 22 at her Manhattan apartment. Her son Doug Hughes and daughter Laura Hughes were at her bedside. She was 86.
