Composer-in-Residence Andrew Lippa and the head of the Musical Theatre department (and Broadway alum) Kaitlin Hopkins took some time to speak to BroadwayWorld about their upcoming collaboration. Broadway veteran Robin Lewis will join recently announced faculty hires Kailtin Hopkins and Jim Price in the Musical Theatre Program at Texas State University.
Kaitlin Hopkins, currently on tour with the pre-Broadway tour of Dirty Dancing, has been named Head of Musical Theatre at Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas according to John Fleming, Chair of the Department of Theatre and Dance at Texas State. Her husband, Jim Price, will also be joining her on the faculty.
This fall, Daryl Roth is pleased to present the Off-Broadway premiere of the acclaimed children's musical A Dolphin Up a Tree, based on the award-winning book by Kimberly Foster. Directed by Paul Urcioli (Atlantic Theater's A Walk in the Public Area), the musical begins performances at Off-Broadway's DR2 Theatre (103 E. 15th St.) on Saturday, September 29, 2007.
