He lives a reclusive existence in his Idaho home, teaching how to write basic essays from his laptop while spread across his couch, with his students able to hear his voice, but never see his face. When he last used a scale, Charlie weighed in at 550 pounds. He suspects to be close to 600 now.
The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts will officially open its renovated Theater Lab today, November 12, 2012 at 6 p.m. with a performance of music and poetry. The evening will feature Grammy®-nominated jazz vocalist Gregory Porter in a performance curated by award-winning actress, director, playwright, and Artistic Director of the DC Hip-Hop Theatre Festival Kamilah Forbes. The program will blend Porter's music with the spoken word, highlighting works and performances by some of today's most innovative female poets, including Holly Bass, Mahogany Browne, Vanessa Hidary, and Kelly Zen-Yie Tsai. The one-hour performance will be streamed live on the Center's website and archived for future viewing.

The Stratford Festival's box office opens to Members on Monday, November 12, at 9 a.m., putting them first in line to purchase tickets for the 2013 season. A special advance online sale to Members will be offered on Sunday, November 11, beginning at noon. Sales to the general public begin January 5, with online advance sales beginning January 4.
On March 8, 2013, one of Broadway's favorite leading men, Ryan Silverman, will appear with The New York Pops for Come Fly With Me: The Songs of Sammy Cahn. Mr. Silverman has previously appeared in The Phantom of the Opera (Raoul), Cry-Baby (Cry-Baby u/s), Music in the Air (Karl) at New York City Center's Encores!, and The Most Happy Fella (Al) at New York City Opera. Mr. Silverman replaces Seth MacFarlane, who is unavailable to perform due to a scheduling conflict. Mr. Silverman joins previously announced guest artist Megan Hilty, Broadway singer and star of the television show Smash.
