Christoph Eschenbach to Lead Chritian Tetzlaff and LA Phil at Walt Disney Concert Hall, 1/10-12

Conductor Christoph Eschenbach returns to Walt Disney Concert Hall to lead the Los Angeles Philharmonic in its first three performances of 2014, Friday and Saturday, January 10 and 11, at 8 pm, and Sunday, January 12, at 2 pm. Joining the orchestra is Christian Tetzlaff, one of the violin's most thoughtful masters, to explore the paradoxes of Schoenberg's Violin Concerto, a work not heard here since 1975. Also on the program are Beethoven's Egmont Overture and Dvo?ak's Symphony No. 9, "New World," one of the composer's most popular symphonies.

ABC Orders HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER Pilot from Shondaland

According to Deadline, the network has given a pilot order to HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER, described as a 'sexy, suspense-drive legal thriller.' Rhimes, whose series GREY'S ANATOMY and SCANDAL continue on at ABC, will produce alongside Betsy Beers.

James Eckhouse to Join Bryan Cranston in Broadway's ALL THE WAY as 'Robert McNamara'

Producers Jeffrey Richards, Jerry Frankel and Louise Gund have announced that James Eckhouse, most recently seen in the world premiere of Jane Anderson's 'The Escort' at The Geffen Playhouse and best known for playing Jim Walsh on the original 'Beverly Hills 90210', will play the role of Robert McNamara in the Broadway bound production of ALL THE WAY by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Robert Schenkkan (The Kentucky Cycle).

La Jolla's SIDE SHOW Ends Run Today; Kennedy Center Engagement Set for Spring 2014

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts produces, in association with La Jolla Playhouse, a re-imagining of Henry Krieger and Bill Russell's Side Show. Directed by Academy Award winning director Bill Condon, the musical closes at La Jolla Playhouse tonight, December 17 and will open at the Kennedy Center Eisenhower Theater in spring 2014. The musical features book and lyrics by Bill Russelland music by Henry Krieger who will revise the show before its debut at La Jolla.

Boston Celtics Forward Kris Humphries Teams Up with Houghton Mifflin Harcourt for Holiday Reading Event

Boston Celtics Forward Kris Humphries today spent time with 6-7 year olds from the John F. Kennedy School at a special holiday-themed reading event held in partnership with Boston-based education leader Houghton Mifflin Harcourt (HMH). Humphries read stories with the children and discussed the significance of reading in their lives as part of a festive celebration of reading at the Four Seasons Hotel in Boston.

Toronto Pearson celebrates the city with unique tastes from renowned Toronto chefs

Today, Toronto Pearson announced the openings of two new restaurants by leading Toronto chefs. Acer by Guy Rubino will open in Terminal 3 next week joining Hemant Bhagwani's Marathi which recently opened in Terminal 1. With an eclectic range of menu options, these concepts bring some of Toronto's diverse city culture to life. The new openings are the final two restaurants resulting from the airport's relationship with restaurateur OTG Management. Since the partnership was announced in April 2012, 11 new dining concepts have opened at Toronto Pearson.

New Chicago Artists Join the Goodman's Artistic Team for 2013-14 Playwrights Unit

A new crop of local talent joins Goodman Theatre's artistic team for the 2013/2014 Season. The four Chicago-based writers named to the fourth season of the Playwrights Unit-a year-long residency program designed to support and develop new works-include Andrew Hinderaker, Gift Theatre ensemble member; Mickle Maher, cofounder of Theater Oobleck; Anne Garcia-Romero, a resident playwright at Chicago Dramatists; and Laura Schellhardt, who oversees undergraduate playwriting at Northwestern University. A partnership with Chicago Dramatists, the Playwrights Unit meets twice per month with members of the Goodman's artistic team to discuss their plays-in-progress and provide feedback for one another. The program includes readings of the playwrights' works-in-progress at Chicago Dramatists in early 2014, and culminates in summer 2014 with staged readings of their completed works at the Goodman. Playwrights Unit alumni include Greg Allen, Alice Austen, Ike Holter and Christopher Oscar Peña (2012/2013 Season); Philip Dawkins, Nambi E. Kelley, Elaine Romero and Martin Zimmerman (2011/2012 Season); and Seth Bockley, Lisa Dillman, Laura Jacqmin and Rohina Malik (2010/2011 Season).

Deborah F. Rutter Named President of Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts

David M. Rubenstein, Chairman of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, today announced the selection of Deborah F. Rutter as the next Kennedy Center president. Ms. Rutter currently serves as the President of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra Association and will assume her Kennedy Center duties on September 1, 2014. She will serve as the Kennedy Center's third president, following Michael M. Kaiser who will step down from the position on August 31, 2014.
