At last night's 2012 Tonys, NEWSIES took home two awards- Best Score and Best Choreography. The whole NEWSIES team gave fans an inside look throughout the night, chronicling their experience from their big performance, to Alan Menken's win. Check out videos from the cast below!

Alan Menken and Jack Feldman are this year's recipients of the Tony Award for Best Original Score (Music and Lyrics) Written for Theatre for NEWSIES. Yesterday, May 24, New Dramatists honored two-time Tony Award winner Bernadette Peters with their 2012 Lifetime Achievement Award at its 63rd Annual Spring Luncheon tribute at the New York Marriott Marquis. Among those who offered tributes were Emmy Award-winner Mary Tyler Moore, Peters' Tony Award-winning A Little Night Music co-star Elaine Stritch, and New Dramatists Artistic Director Todd London. Tony and Academy Award-winner Joel Grey and Peters' Tony-nominated Gypsy co-star John Dossett offered musical tributes. BroadwayWorld was on hand for the event and brings you photo coverage below!

Yesterday, May 24, Tony Award-winner Harvey Fierstein hosted a special Birthday party on to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Little / Helen Hayes Theatre, which opened on March 12, 1912 with John Galsworthy's play The Pigeon. Our focus is 'Newsies,' the crowd-pleasing musical nominated for 8 Tony Awards. Surprising no one following the show's grosses, it's just been announced NEWSIES, which opened on Broadway back in March for a limited run through August 19th will now officially be an open-ended run with tickets on sale through November 18, 2012 and group sales to January of 2013. The show received 8 Tony nominations earlier this month.

NEWSIES is currently playing at Broadway's Nederlander Theatre (208 W 41st St) for a strictly limited 101 performance run following its critically-hailed stint at Paper Mill Playhouse last fall. Newsies, the new American musical that just received eight Tony Award nominations including Best Musical, will be featured on ABC's "Nightline" tonight, May 3. Correspondent John Berman talks with the cast of Newsies and explains how the plot, set in 1899, has re-energized a new protest generation. "Nightline" airs nationally on ABC at 11:30p.m.
