After a sell-out season at the end of 2009 at Sydney Opera House, an 18 month Australia wide tour, a tour of New Zealand and a Helpmann Award for Best Contemporary Australian Concert, THE MAN IN BLACK is back, with Australian rock legend Tex Perkins taking to the stage as Johnny Cash for a strictly limited season at The Playhouse, Sydney Opera House from 10 to 22 April.

"Almost Heaven: The Songs of John Denver," a concert'style musical that features close to thirty songs made famous by singer, songwriter John Denver, begins a three-weekend run on the Playhouse Merced mainstage Friday April 13, 2012 at 7:30 pm.

FRONT ROW CENTER, a new music television series that brings the live concert experience home, is scheduled to debut its inaugural season on public television stations across the country beginning April, 2012 (check local listings).

The Recording Academy announced its Special Merit Awards recipients today, and this year's selections are: Allman Brothers Band, Glen Campbell, Antonio Carlos Jobim, George Jones, the Memphis Horns, Diana Ross and Gil Scott-Heron as Lifetime Achievement Award recipients; Dave Bartholomew, Steve Jobs and Rudy Van Gelder as Trustees Award honorees; and Celemony and Roger Nichols as Technical GRAMMY Award honorees.

John Prine will come to Morris Performing Arts Center, April 14. The long list of songwriters who have recorded gems from his extensive catalog include Johnny Cash, Bonnie Raitt, the Everly Brothers, John Denver, Kris Kristofferson, Carly Simon, Ben Harper, Joan Baez, and many others. Prine has two Grammys and the distinction of being one of the few songwriters honored by the Library of Congress and US Poet Laureate.

First discovered in 2009 on TVs reality show "America's Got Talent," The Texas Tenors now enjoy international repute as powerful entertainers who weave effortlessly from John Denver to Puccini, Merle Haggard and Leonard Bernstein. Casting has been completed for New York City Center's upcoming Encores! production of Stephen Sondheim's Merrily We Roll Along, the first New York City Center Encores! production of the season. Merrily We Roll Along, with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by George Furth, will be directed by James Lapine with music direction by Rob Berman and musical staging by Dan Knechtges. Merrily has been extended for a two-week run and will play for 15 performances, February 8-19, 2012, at New York City Center, 55th Street between 6th and 7th Avenues.
