Daniel Reichard, star of THE MIDTOWN MEN, will again bring his annual holiday concert at the Triad Theater on December 11th and 12th, 2011.

The ASCAP Foundation honored composer/lyricist Stephen Schwartz for his lifetime contributions to the Musical Theater with The ASCAP Foundation Richard Rodgers Award.

Just announced is news that Lin-Manuel Miranda will star as 'Charlie' in the upcoming Encores! production of MERRILY WE ROLL ALONG. Merrily has been extended for a two-week run, and will play for 15 performances, February 8-19, 2012 at New York City Center, 55th Street between 6th and 7th Avenues.

Drake Bell and Lindsay Pearse flew in from hollywood to star in a staged reading of the John Denver/Stewart F. Lane new musical, A Moment in Time, at Playwrights Horizons last week. John Denver, a singer, songwriter and humanitarian, has received numerous awards during his life including, two Grammies, an Emmy, and has been inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Long Wharf Theatre, under the director of Artistic Director Gordon Edelstein and Interim Managing Director Joshua Borenstein, presents the Tony Award-winning musical Ain't Misbehavin' on the Mainstage from Oct. 26 through Nov. 20.

Last week (October 20th and 21st) there were industry readings in New York of A Moment in Time, a new musical featuring music and lyrics by the popular singer/song-writer John Denver, with a book by Stewart F. Lane.

Celia Keenan-Bolger, Colin Donnell, Betsy Wolfe and Elizabeth Stanley have been cast in Stephen Sondheim's Merrily We Roll Along, the first New York City Center Encores! production of season. Merrily We Roll Along, with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by George Furth, will be directed by James Lapine with music direction by Rob Berman and musical staging by Dan Knechtges. This Wednesday, October 12th the John Denver Spirit Award will be presented to Stewart F. Lane at a ceremony in Central Park (West 75th Street and the West Lake at the Ladies Pavilion), New York City taking place at 5:45PM. Presented by The Starsong Foundation and JD Spirit, the award celebrates the legacy of the late singer/songwriter John Denver.
