Broadway Smash-Hit MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET Coming to Georgia Ensemble Theatre

Georgia Ensemble Theatre (GET), North Fulton's only professional theatre company, will finish up its 24thseason with Million Dollar Quartet, the smash-hit Tony Award-winning musical inspired by the famed recording session that brought together rock 'n' roll icons Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins for the first and only time. Based on a true event, the production runs April 6th through 23rd, 2017 at the theatre's home in the Roswell Cultural Arts Center. Chris Damiano, as both Director and Music Director is at the helm of this fast-paced Broadway musical that serves up all the hits we know and love. Million Dollar Quartet is graciously sponsored by The Malon D. Mimms Company and Synovus/The Bank of North Georgia and is a co-production with The Atlanta Lyric Theatre.

This inspirational story runs February 16th through March 5th, 2017 at the theatre's home in the Roswell Cultural Arts Center. Andrea Frye, acclaimed director and actor, will direct the production that is also part of the 2017 Roswell Roots Festival. Having Our Say is graciously sponsored by The Kimberly-Clark Corporation.
Milwaukee Repertory Theater Announces 2017/18 Season

Milwaukee Repertory Theater Artistic Director Mark Clements and Managing Director Chad Bauman are pleased to announce the 2017/18 Season with 13 productions in four venues spanning September 2017 - May 2018. With the start of the 2017/18 Season both Artistic Director Mark Clements and Managing Director Chad Bauman will renew their contracts with Milwaukee Rep for an additional four and six years respectively. Artistic Director Mark Clements began his tenure at Milwaukee Rep in 2010 by introducing a musical into the Quadracci Powerhouse season, creating the New Play Development program, and adapting and directing the world premiere production of A Christmas Carol this past December. With this contract renewal through 2021 he will continue his commitment to presenting world class works on all three stages. Managing Director Chad Bauman came to The Rep in 2013 and will continue through 2023 per his contract renewal. In his time here he has implemented a fruitful strategic business model that supports the theater's artistic vision with a focus on quality, inclusion, citizenship, innovation, and stability.

Grammy®-nominated Singer/Songwriter Shawn Mullins will play a gig in the Alhambra After Dark music series at Jacksonville's iconic Alhambra Theatre & Dining. Mullins, nominated for a Grammy Award for his breakout song, "Lullaby," is touring North America to promote My Stupid Heart, his new album available now on Rounder Sugar Hill.
Chris Collins and Boulder Canyon Present A Tribute to John Denver

John Denver was one of the top recording artists of an era. He also was an active and recognized humanitarian and environmentalist. Denver's songs such as "Take Me Home, Country Roads", "Rocky Mountain High", "Annie's Song", "Back Home Again" and scores of other beloved melodies were an introspection of love, nature, family, and home. Chris Collins, an award-winning singer/songwriter, who leads the band BoulderCanyon, carries on the musical legacy that John Denver gave to the world. Their tribute makes a stop at the State Theatre on Friday, March 3.

Woodall will star in the world premiere of Hearing John Denver's Voice, a cabaret exploring her multifaceted relationship with the music of John Denver, at L'Etage (624 S. 6th Street). The unique show will run March 20 and March 21, 2017 at 7:30PM each evening.

In what has become an annual ritual, a total of 32 established and emerging composers, lyricists, and librettists will converge on the Goodspeed campus from mid-January through mid-February 2017 to participate in the Johnny Mercer Foundation Writers Colony at Goodspeed Musicals. The writing teams, representing 18 new musicals, will populate the campus, creating a truly exciting environment for discovery and inspiration.
