BWW Reviews: REEFER MADNESS Tenth Anniversary Reunion Concert Leaves Audience High

Long after the Waldos coined the term '420,' composer Dan Studney, lyricist Kevin Murphy, and actor/producer Christian Campbell decided that it was time to test the waters in New York City for the return of the hit cult musical REEFER MADNESS. Lighting up at 54 Below, they wanted to see just how high the 17-year-old material gets modern audiences while also celebrating the 10th anniversary of the film adaptation of the show.

Eden Espinosa, Kimberley Locke & More to Headline BROADWAY SINGS FOR PRIDE Tonight

Broadway Sings for Pride will kickoff NYC Gay Pride 2013 by celebrating with their third annual Gay Pride benefit concert. The special one-night benefit entitled ' Unite' with join forces with American Idol and Billboard recording artistic Kimberley Locke, Broadway powerhouse Eden Espinosa (star of Wicked, Rent, Brooklyn The Musical), American Idol and Rent star Anwar Robinson and over 20 members of the Broadway community. The concert will benefit the Hetrick-Martin Institute and Broadway Sings for Pride. There will also be special speakers including a message of hope from Steven Guy and James Clementi of the Tyler Clementi Foundation. The night will be hosted by award winning host from the hit show 'truTV Presents: the World's Dumbest' Scott Nevins with staging by Rachele Rommes (Minnesota Timberwolves choreographer). A live auction will happen before the show.

Kenneth Gartman Returns to Don't Tell Mama with A BALLSY CHRISTMAS WITH KENNETH Tonight

Kenneth Gartman returns to Don't Tell Mama tonight, December 23rd to host his 4th Annual Holiday Open Mic - A BALLSY CHRISTMAS WITH KENNETH. This 90 minute holiday open mic aspires to be one of the funniest and possibly most offensive shows of the holiday season featuring some of Cabaret and Broadway's great talents. You'll hear some of your favorite traditional tunes and enjoy a holiday sing-along as well. In addition to hosting, Gartman will be tickling the ivories with Matt Vander Ende on Drums and John Convertino on Bass.

Tift Merritt Adds New US Tour Dates

Having recently performed at the Americana Music Association Conference in Nashville, Merritt is touring North America in support of the new record. Tift Merritt Announces TRAVELING ALONE Album, New Tour

Tift Merritt's highly anticipated Yep Roc Records label debut Traveling Alone is due October 2. The album was recorded in Brooklyn with Tucker Martine (The Decemberists, My Morning Jacket, Spoon) and features a guest appearance by Andrew Bird as well as performances by Marc Ribot, Rob Burger (Lucinda Williams, Iron & Wine, Rufus Wainwright), John Convertino (Calexico), Eric Heywood (The Jayhawks, Son Volt, Alejandro Escovedo) and Merritt's longtime collaborator Jay Brown.
