Bootleg Theater and Circle X Theatre Co. come together for the second year in a row to explore, rehearse and present free readings of four new plays.

Opening April 22: The Chinese Massacre (Annotated) A World Premiere by Tom Jacobson Directed by Jeff Liu

What do the first race riot in Los Angeles and gay life in steamy New Orleans have in common? Each is the subject of a new play by Tom Jacobson, one of Los Angeles' most acclaimed and prolific playwrights. Circle X Theatre Co. presents Jacobson's The Chinese Massacre (Annotated), directed by Jeff Liu, opening April 22, and Ensemble Studio Theatre/LA presents House of the Rising Son, directed by Michael Michetti, opening April 23, both at the new Atwater Village Theatre where the two companies offer a joint season in 2011.

On September 22nd, the 2008 Ovation Award Nominees were announced. Now in its 19th year, the LA Stage Alliance Ovation Awards will celebrate the 168 theatre companies, 390 registered productions, and over 2,000 individual artists who participated in the September 1, 2007 to August 31, 2008 season

This first show in the Furious season is the West Coast premiere of the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize winning play, which recently finished an Off-Broadway run.
