On March 7, The 24 Hour Company teamed with the Exchange to produce The 24 Hour Musicals at The Gramercy Theatre. Four brand new musicals were written, cast, rehearsed and performed in a single day, featuring an star-studded line up of Broadway performers, composers, writers, directors, choreographers and musical directors. Creative director Ted Sperling (musical director of Light in the Piazza, South Pacific and Guys & Dolls), led some of the theatre's brightest talent from Broadway, film and television as they collaborated under one roof, in one day, to create original musical theatre. The BMI-Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop announces its Spring Smoker, a semi-annual showcase for new songs from Workshop writers. The event will be held at the The Actors Temple Theatre, 339 West 47th Street, (between 8th and 9th Aves) at 5:30PM and is open to members of the entertainment industry as well as Workshop members.
