KINKY BOOTS star Annaleigh Ashford and husband Joe Tapper have welcomed their own little Broadway baby!

Today's big news: The new, Broadway-bound ANASTASIA musical starts tonight in Hartford, and the New Dramatists honor Audra McDonald at today's luncheon!

Annaleigh Ashford and her husband, actor Joe Tapper will welcome their first child, a son, in early September.

Cherry Lane Theatre has announced casting for the third and final production of the company's award-winning MENTOR PROJECT 2016:  Antoinette Nwandu's PASS OVER, being presented at Cherry Lane (38 Commerce St.) from April 13-23, it has been announced by Seri Lawrence and Janio Marrero, MENTOR PROJECT's Producing Artistic Directors.  Angelina Fiordellisi is Cherry Lane's Founding Artistic Director.

The tradition continues in a collaboration with Trick Saddle and the 45-year old company. The two companies combine forces in the world premiere of 'Imagining the Imaginary Invalid,' inspired by 'The Imaginary Invalid,' Moliere's piercing satiric take on the pretension, gullibility and vulnerability of we poor mortals. Presented by La MaMa, a production of Mabou Mines and Trick Saddle, the play runs January 21-February 7 at La MaMa's Ellen Stewart Theatre.

To life! The Broadway revival of FIDDLER ON THE ROOF just opened Sunday night, December 20 at The Broadway Theatre (1681 Broadway), wrapping up the 2015 Broadway season. FIDDLER ON THE ROOF is directed by Tony Award winner Bartlett Sher, and choreographed by Hofesh Shechter. The 52nd Street Project makes a difference in the lives of countless Hell's Kitchen (Clinton) kids by pairing them with theater professionals who mentor them through the creation of original theater. Perhaps the most poignant presentations made by The 52nd Street Project are those in its semi-annual Playmaking series, which features the Project's youngest Hell's Kitchen mentees-ten year-olds who have just begun their theatrical education-writing for accomplished professional actors and revealing their work to a public audience for the first time. Shakespeare & Company presented the first full American production of Red Velvet, written by Lolita Chakrabarti, directed by Daniela Varon, and starring OBIE Award-winning actor John Douglas Thompson last night and Broadwayworld's Stephen Sorokoff was there. Shakespeare & Company has finalized casting for its 38th performance season, and released a complete schedule of Opening Night dates. The announcement was made this week by Interim Artistic Directors Ariel Bock and Jonathan Croy, along with a positive report from Interim Managing Director Stephen D. Ball on the Company's box office successes to date. Shakespeare & Company's season opens on May 22 with The How and The Why, by Sarah Treem.

YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU, the Pulitzer Prize-winning revival by Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman, played its final performance yesterday afternoon, February 22, 2015. To carry over the holiday spirit into the new year, cast members from the You Can't Take It With You Pulitzer Prize-winning revival by Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman will be volunteering their time and working as a group at God's Love We Deliver. The cast will be helping prepare meals in the kitchen on Tuesday, January 20th for a three-hour afternoon shift.

Anna Chlumsky will take over for Rose Byrne in the hit Broadway revival of YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU. The two-time Emmy nominated actress will be joined by Richard Thomas, who will replace Mark Linn-Baker. Both actors will join the production tonight, January 6th.
