SCOTTSBORO BOYS Announces Student Rush

The producers of THE SCOTTSBORO BOYS, the exhilarating new Kander & Ebb musical, are pleased to announce a student rush policy. THE SCOTTSBORO BOYS begins previews on Thursday at the Lyceum Theatre (149 West 45th Street). Opening night is Sunday, October 31.

Tricycle Theatre Presents THE GREAT GAME, Through 10/17

Tricycle Theatre's epic production The Great Game: Afghanistan kicked off a limited three-week engagement last week at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis. The ambitious theatrical experience, nominated for a prestigious Olivier Award for Outstanding Achievement, explores Afghan culture and history in an enthralling three-part event. The Great Game: Afghanistan was recently remounted at the Tricycle in London and comes to the Guthrie Theater as part of a four-city U.S. tour that also includes the Shakespeare Theatre in Washington, D.C., Berkeley Repertory Theatre and The Public Theater in New York.

Guthrie Theater & Acting Co. Present ROMEO AND JULIET/COMEDY OF ERRORS, 10/22

Joe Dowling of the Guthrie Theater and Margot Harley of The Acting Company have announced an expanded touring season beginning and ending in New York. This will be the third joint tour for the two TONY-winning theaters and will feature co-productions of Shakespeare's ROMEO AND JULIET directed by Penny Metropulos in repertory with THE COMEDY OF ERRORS, directed by Ian Belknap. Ms. Metropulos has directed at Oregon Shakespeare Festival for 19 years; Mr. Belknap, Associate Artistic Director of The Acting Company, has apprenticed under several master directors including Mark Lamos and Doug Hughes.

Cox, Dano, Gettelfinger et al. Lead Guare's FREE MAN OF COLOR at LCT; Opens 11/18

Lincoln Center Theater (under the direction of André Bishop, Artistic Director, and Bernard Gersten, Executive Producer) has announced that Peter Bartlett, Nicole Beharie, Arnie Burton, Rosal Colon, Veanne Cox, Paul Dano, Sara Gettelfinger, Joseph Marcell, Nick Mennell, mos, Teyonnah Parris, Brian Reddy, Reg Rogers, Triney Sandoval, Robert Stanton, Wendy Rich Stetson, David Emerson Toney and Jeffrey Wright will be featured in it upcoming production of A FREE MAN OF COLOR, a new play by John Guare, directed by George C. Wolfe, which will begin performances Thursday, October 21 at 8pm at the Vivian Beaumont Theater. Opening night is Thursday, November 18 at 6:45pm.

Silver, a comedy with scientific issues and moral dilemmas, will begin previews on Thursday, July 8, at HERE (www.here.org ), 145 Sixth Avenue (enter on Dominick Street, one block south of Spring Street).

Agnew, Hansen, Guidry et al. Lead Guthrie Theater's DOLLHOUSE, 5/27-7/11

The Guthrie Theater today announced that Sarah Agnew (currently appearing as Beatrice in Yale Rep's production of The Servant of Two Masters) will lead the cast of Rebecca Gilman's Dollhouse, playing Nora in a modern-day critique of middle-class life in an adaptation of Henrik Ibsen's groundbreaking and controversial masterpiece A Doll's House (previously seen at the Guthrie in 1996).
