Coeurage Theatre Company, LA's 'Pay What You Want' Company, has announced the final production of its 2013 season, Shakespeare'sLove's Labour's Lost, directed by Ted Barton. There will be one preview performance on Friday, October 11 at 8pm and opening is set for Saturday, October 12 at 8pm. On Labor Day, September 2 at 7:30pm, the 12th Annual Kennedy Center Page-To-Stage Festival will host force/collision for a reading of Joe Calarco's new play Separate Rooms. The cast includes Tracy Olivera (Broadway's Ragtime, Ford's Theatre's Hello, Dolly!),Jenna Sokolowski (Woolly Mammoth's Mr. Burns, a post-electric play and Signature's Title of show), Thomas Keegan (Signature's Dying City),Vanessa Lock (Signature's God of Carnage), Tonya Beckman Ross (Shakespeare Theatre Company's Lady Windermere's Fan), Chris Stezin(Theatre J's The Religion Thing), Matthew Wilson (Faction of Fools), Joseph Carlson (Synetic's Home of the Solider) and Harlan Work(Theatre J's Our Class). The reading will be directed by force/collision Founding Director John Moletress and be followed by a talkback with playwright Joe Calarco, cast and director.
The Theater Project inaugurates a monthly theatrical presentation at the Maplewood Memorial Library, OPENING NIGHTS IN THE AFTERNOON. Performers were originally brought to Goodspeed directly from New York City, typically by Steamboat. Though we are now brought by the Goodspeed Guild members in vans and buses, it is still exciting to come down the side of the river valley and near the swing bridge and see the towering Goodspeed Opera House on the other bank.
The Kennedy Center hosts its 12th annual Page-to-Stage new play festival from Saturday, August, 31 to Monday, September 2, 2013, featuring more than 40 theaters from the D.C. metropolitan area, all with a mission to produce and support new work. The three-day, Center-wide event offers a series of free readings and open rehearsals of plays and musicals being developed by local, regional, and national playwrights, librettists, and composers. Everything old is new again!
Coming back to Goodspeed after seven years on the road has been wonderful. As I said before, it feels like coming home. Here at Goodspeed there have been a lot of changes; new housing being the biggest among them-- and the new housing is amazing! They all have central air, and private bathrooms with bathtubs. In my other house I shared a bathroom-but it had some old world charm to it. But having your own tub, can really make all the difference after a long day.

There will be two preview performances on Thursday, August 15 and Friday, August 16 at 8pm, and opening is set for Saturday, August 17 at 8pm. A Bright Room Called Day will play through September 15 only at The Lost Studio on S. La Brea Avenue in Los Angeles.

Snap-Two Productions, Inc. and LimanAde Productions in association with Issembert Productions, Inc. will present a staged reading of the new drama with music, Signs of Life, at American University in the Katzen Arts Center Studio Theatre tonight, June 1 at 7:00 P.M. and June 2 at 1:00 P.M. The performances will feature American University alumni, current students and a student from BRAVO@KAT, the children's wing of Kensington Arts Theatre. This is the first academic production of Signs of Life.
Cygnet Theatre closes its 10th Anniversary Season by presenting the San Diego premiere of Joe Calarco's Shakespeare's R&J. Part Dead Poets Society, part Lord of the Flies, Calarco's work takes audiences to an all-male Catholic boarding school where four schoolboys secretly discover Shakespeare's most famous love story.
