Miracles, wild women, beautiful music and lots of laughs will entertain and enlighten audiences during the upcoming 2009 season at Penguin Rep Theatre in Stony Point, New York. The nonprofit professional theatre, under the leadership of Artistic Director Joe Brancato and Executive Director Andrew M. Horn, today announced the four plays selected for the theatre's 32nd season as well as a freeze on prices.

Angelo Parra's The Devil's Music: The Life and Blues of Bessie Smith will be performed at the New Brunswick Playhouse, running March 3?29. Miche Braden, who portrayed Bessie Smith in the previous productions of the play, will recreate the title role once more.

Distinguished actor and director Paul Newman will direct the Playhouse's fall production, Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck; Timothy Busfield, Emmy Award-winning actor from 'The West Wing,' 'Studio 60' and 'thirtysomething,' will star in the dark comedy Vigil, launching its tri-state area premiere on February 26; and Time of My Life, a comedy by Alan Ayckbourn, reuniting author, director and cast members from one of last season's biggest hits, is newly slated for April production.
