A new season fit for a new stage. After undergoing a cosmetic overhaul-from lobby to stage and beyond-The Ringwald Theatre is thrilled to announce the lineup for its twelfth season.
In honor of Matthew Shepard, 20 years after his murder, The Ringwald presents a four-show engagement of The Laramie Project, a landmark play by Moises Kaufman and Members of the Tectonic Theater Project. Performances begin Friday, September 14 and run through Monday, September 17.
Birmingham Hippodrome co-produced a jam-packed free Hip-Hop festival at the theatre and in the Southside streets (Mon 7 - Sun 13 May). Across a week of festival fun, there were dance competitions, rap battles and family-friendly workshops, plus graffiti and street art - set to the sounds of the festival from live DJs and MCs. Now in its third year, B-SIDE Hip-Hop Festival attracted a wide audience of Hip-Hop fans and novices alike from around the world.

It's the Stephen for the season! The Ringwald Theatre's Sondheim Spring kicks off with a five-week run of Merrily We Roll Along on Friday, February 16th. Merrily-aka the show they were doing in Greta Gerwig's Lady Bird-marked the reunion of legendary composer/lyricist Stephen Sondheim with librettist George Furth, who had previously teamed for the Broadway landmark Company-which will keep Sondheim Spring rolling in May.
