On Tuesday, August 22 at 8:00 p.m., the Barn Theatre opens the "rock opera for our time" - RENT.

The 23rd annual Summer Festival continues on Sunday, August 27, at 11 am with a performance of Franz Joseph Haydn's Missa Sancti Joanne de Deo. 

Starring Strictly Come Dancing Champion Joanne Clifton and A1 heartthrob Ben Adams, Flashdance - The Musical is the inspiring and unforgettable story of Alex a determined welder who dreams of becoming a professional dancer. When a romance complicates her ambitions, she harnesses it to drive her dream of attending Shipley Dance Academy.

Olivier and Tony Award-winning actor, Ian McDiarmid will play MP Enoch Powell in Chris Hannan's searing play, What Shadows. Directed by Roxana Silbert (Artistic Director, Birmingham Repertory Theatre), What Shadows tells the story of Powell's explosive Rivers of Blood speech, bringing to life the community that inspired it and, 30 years later, its effects on a woman trying to make sense of her life.

Award-winning composer, lyricist, and performer Lin-Manuel Miranda will be honored on August 29, 2017 with the Anthony Quinn Foundation Award at Joe's Pub at The Public Theater. He is being recognized for his outstanding contributions to the performing arts, his humanitarianism, and his empowerment of creative youth at the organization's scholarship program benefit.

Sixty-three years after its first London production, Salad Days returns in an exciting revamp of the much-loved classical musical. Reimagined for the Union Theatre, Bryan Hodgson's new production is the highlight of this year's off West-End season running from 16 August to 9 September 2017 at the Union Theatre.

Featuring a book by George Furth, music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, with choreography by Jeffrey Page, music supervision by Darren Cohen, music direction by Alex Shields, and direction by JuliAnne Boyd, Company will begin previews on August 10 and is set to open August 13 for a run through September 2.

MNM Productions' Company is the latest venture by theatrical producers and arts consultants Marcie Gorman-Althof and Michael Lifshitz. Company is their sixth major musical following A Chorus Line, Side By Side By Sondheim, Hair, The World Goes 'Round and, most recently, Monty Python's Spamalot. MNM Productions' Company will be appearing at the Marshall E. Rinker Playhouse of the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts through August 6, 2017.

'Somewhere in the Middle' is about a Jewish-Christian, middle-class family living in the Midwest. It's a funny and heartwarming comic-drama about prejudices and religious beliefs, which are brought to the forefront when the eldest over-achieving child (Sarah) comes home for the Passover/Easter holiday dressed in Muslim garb.

A testament to the transcendent power of love and music takes center stage as South Coast Repertory opens its 2017-18 season with the multi-award-winning Once. The musical-book by Enda Walsh; music and lyrics by Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova-is based on John Carney's Academy Award-winning indie film of the same name. A combination of professional actors - including a local steelworker - and a community cast from Port Talbot will be performing in National Theatre Wales & Common Wealth's We're Still Here. This new production tackles one of the biggest symbols of Wales' industrial past and present; the Port Talbot steelworks.
