Brian Newman Embarks on 'After Hours' Club Tour
Brian Newman, singer, trumpeter and Verve recording artist is gearing up for the release of his first solo recording due out this fall with the launch of a four-city "after hours" club tour that kicks off in Chicago on August 25th. Newman is a long-time friend of Lady Gaga and has frequently accompanied her in performance, most notably on the Tony Bennett/Lady Gaga "Cheek to Cheek" Tour in 2015. He will perform late night engagements throughout August and September in NY, LA, Chicago, Boston and Philadelphia.
The club dates coincide with Lady Gaga's Joanne World Tour dates so Mother Monster fans can catch Brian's performance directly after her show ends in those markets. Lady Gaga has often made surprise appearances at Newman's club appearances in the past.
Signed to Verve, Brian Newman's forthcoming debut solo album will showcase the diversity and originality of his musical signature, recently inspiring the New York Times to note his "swinging music...and noteworthy style.". A true talent on trumpet, the release will incorporate creative takes on rock classics as well as jazz standards. In addition to the Bennett/Gaga tour, he has collaborated with Jose Feliciano and Dierks Bentley. Brian has performed on Boardwalk Empire, NBC's Christmas in Rockefeller Center, MTV's Video Music Awards, The Tonight Show, Watch What Happens Live, Marc Jacobs fashion shows and was featured in a national H&M commercial.
