Project Y Theatre Company commissioned 5 female playwrights to write 'Hybrid 2-Handers' as the centerpiece of this year's hybrid Women in Theatre Festival, a festival of new work written and created by women, originally conceived to be written for and performed to an in-person and streaming audience simultaneously.

Project Y Theatre Company presents World Premiere of CINDY, a new play for kids and families by Amina Henry based on Cinderella. Appropriate for ages 6 and up, the production is directed by Michole Biancosino. It will be presented through June 24 at IRT Theater in the West Village.

On Monday, September 26, 2016, The New York Innovative Theatre Foundation, the organization who for the past 12 years has been dedicated to celebrating Off-Off-Broadway, announced the 2016 recipients at its annual awards ceremony, The IT Awards. Hosted by a crowd favorite, Jason Kravits and directed by award winning director and sound designer, DeLisa White the ceremony took place from 7pm to 10pm at the Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College.

On Monday, August 8, 2016, The New York Innovative Theatre Foundation, the organization who for the past 12 years has been dedicated to celebrating Off-Off-Broadway, announced the 2016 nominees at its annual event, The IT Party, celebrating 12 years and thousands of nominees at 42West. Project Y Theatre Company will open 2 weeks of new plays by women in New York City as part of the first annual Women in Theatre Festival (WiT), the festival that pushes past the notion of 'Gender Parity' by going 'Beyond Parity' with an entirely women-led lineup. For the inaugural year of the curated festival, there will be a run of new plays and performances by diverse women artists with July dates at  Theatre Row (410 W. 42nd Street) in the Studio Theatre.
